Ship, Come Alive! (39,154,267,815 New Cells on Board)
The captain stood at the lectern addressing the entire ship’s company, which numbered into the hundreds, maybe as many as a thousand, all standing in perfect military rank, while the brand-spanking-new ship sat empty and tethered to the dock. The final statement the captain made was a loud, commanding shout: “SHIP, COME ALIVE!” At the command, one rank after another peeled off double-time up the gang planks and took their assigned positions. The ship was now alive and ready to fulfill its mission.Audio Options: | MP3 |
Ship, Come Alive! (39,154,267,815 New Cells on Board)
Certainty is at such a premium when we live in a world of constant uncertainty; and imagine: a holy certainty is a promise to the BORN-AGAIN who mix the Word of God with faith. It is a certainty that all things in my life will work together for my good. We have such a promise. Romans 8:28:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
That verse doesn’t mean pie-in-the-sky Christianity, but to the contrary: It means a life very familiar, with afflictions, infirmities, persecution, temptations, tribulations, suffering, and especially death—but all of these things will work together for my good. Hebrews 2:10 speaks of our Lord Jesus Christ:
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Christ was made perfect through suffering. His sufferings worked together for His good and ultimately ours. I Peter 5:10:
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Suffering brings about a special purification.
When all things work together for my good—and especially the ugly—a unique certainty thrives. Every day is the best day of my life, and tomorrow will be better. That’s what the Word of God mixed with childlike faith produces. That’s what Holy Ghost certainty looks like.
Dear visitor, have you yet to be BORN-AGAIN—born a second time, this time of the Spirit of God? Would you like to live in Holy Ghost certainty? You can, and it will start in mere moments. In just a few seconds, I will invite you to follow me in a simple, but miraculous, prompt that will change your life forever. In just a few moments, all your sins and their shame will be washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood. You will be as clean as the white, driven snow. In just a few moments, all of Satan’s bondages in your life will be broken, and the bigger the better! You will be free! These promises are everlasting and certain. Here comes the Holy Ghost prompt. Get ready! Here’s the prompt: Click onto “Further with Jesus” for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
MAN SAID: As the playground chant goes: “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me!”

Thank you for coming today. May God fill your life with the hallelujah of His salvation.
The entire fabric of life is discovered in words. Words are the all-embracing medium. Words contemplated, words spoken, thoughts (silent words), and words written put life into motion. For example:
🗨 When you were born, you were given a word name that was affixed to a birth certificate—a word document—certifying your entry into the world.
🗨 Soon after birth, if you are in the US, your name is registered in a word document and assigned a number by the Internal Revenue Service, and you are tracked and taxed all of your days.
🗨 When you take a test in school, you sign your name to the page and respond to word questions with word answers, and your written name earns a written grade.
🗨 When you purchase a vehicle (which is literally made of words), you will sign a host of word documents indicating your intent to comply with the words written. Your word signature binds you to words.
🗨 If you marry, you will confirm your intent with a word signature and the spoken words, “I do.”
🗨 When you pass from this earth, a final word document—a death certificate—is produced with your name affixed to it. From this point, the body returns to the dust from whence it came—a dust that, yes, was spoken into existence by God’s words.
From cradle to grave, the medium is words. Even eternal salvation is a product of God’s Words and is sealed with ours. Romans 10:8-10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Everything must interface with words because everything is made out of words. Your DNA itself is called the language of life. All the marvels of your body are put into motion with a four-letter DNA alphabet structured into words, sentences, paragraphs, and volumes—how about one million pages of words of building instructions?!
Consider these passages:
🗮 Psalm 33:6: By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
🗮 John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
🗮 Revelation 19:13: And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
🗮 John 1:14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Everything is spoken into existence via God’s Words, and everything responds to words.
Our words are prophetic, and our entire body and life’s circumstances will conform. Proverbs 18:21:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
We “shall eat the fruit thereof,” whether bad or good—and we choose the menu. Everything must interface with words.
Multiple features reside here regarding the medical term placebo, as in placebo effect. The placebo is an inactive—as in no medical benefit—substance such as a sugar pill often used in testing the effectiveness of new medications. In studies, patients experiencing a common medical issue are separated into two groups. One group is given the new trial medication while the other group is given the placebo. Often, the placebo outperforms the new medication. The greater the placebo is talked up to the patient, the greater the results. I’ve seen measurements of the placebo “cure” at around 33%. The placebo effect is the result of placing faith in the intent of words. The placebo effect is the result of faith in words. What is the shocking result of mixing words with faith? Real, physical manifestations occur! Words cause physical matter to change form.
Headline, November 4, 2020, Brainfacts.org: “The Neuroscience Behind the Placebo Effect.” Two paragraphs follow:
Placebo treatments induce real responses in the brain. Believing that a treatment will work can trigger neurotransmitter release, hormone production, and an immune response, easing symptoms of pain, inflammatory diseases, and mood disorders.
Experiments using brain imaging suggest that the brain has a real response to the expectations and context surrounding placebos, which can have an effect on the body. [End of quote]
The entire issue in this life is words. B.H. Lipton, PhD, a stem cell biologist, taught at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, and later performed pioneering studies at Stanford University. Dr. Lipton addresses the placebo effect in his book, The Biology of Belief. A few excerpts concerning the power of words follow:
Every medical student learns, at least in passing, that the mind can affect the body. They learn that some people get better when they believe (falsely) they are getting medicine. When patients get better by ingesting a sugar pill, medicine defines it as the placebo effect. My friend Rob Williams, founder for PSYCH-K, an energy-based psychological treatment system, suggests that it would be more appropriate to refer to it as the perception effect. I call it the belief effect to stress that our perceptions, whether they are accurate or inaccurate, equally impact our behavior and our bodies.
No doubt some patients, the conservatively estimated one-third of the population who are particularly susceptible to the healing power of the placebo effect, got better with those treatments. In today’s world, when doctors wearing white coats deliver a treatment decisively, patients may believe the treatment works—and so it does, whether it is a real drug or just a sugar pill.
Studies have shown the placebo effect to be powerful in treating other diseases, including asthma and Parkinson’s. In the treatment of depression, placebos are stars. So much so that psychiatrist Walter Brown of the Brown University School of Medicine has proposed placebo pills as the first treatment for patients with mild or moderate depression. [End of quotes]
Hebrews 4:2 speaks of those who fail to succeed in the Kingdom of God as being those who do not mix God’s words with faith:
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Mixing God’s words with faith is very similar to the placebo effect, with one giant difference. Patients benefitting from the medical placebo are believing in the false words of the doctor, yet seeing positive results. The BORN-AGAIN mix their faith with the very Word of the supernatural, inerrant God who never fails, and His Words are certified and backed by the full faith and credit of Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory—and guess what? The payoff is eternal!
We are going to put words to work in this feature. Watch how words affect everything.
Several additional excerpts from The Biology of Belief follow:
Receptor “antennas” can also read vibrational energy fields such as light, sound, and radio frequencies. The antennas on these “energy” receptors vibrate like tuning forks. If an energy vibration in the environment resonates with a receptor’s antenna, it will alter the protein’s charge, causing the receptor to change shape. I’ll cover this more completely in the next chapter, but I’d like to point out that because receptors can read energy fields, the notion that only physical molecules can impact cell physiology is outmoded. Biological behavior can be controlled by invisible forces, including thought, as well as it can be controlled by physical molecules like penicillin, a fact that provides the scientific underpinning for pharmaceutical-free energy medicine.
The fact is that harnessing the power of your mind can be more effective than the drugs you have been programmed to believe you need.
The brain’s function is to coordinate the dialogue of signal molecules within the community. Consequently, in a community of cells, each cell must acquiesce control to the informed decisions of its awareness authority, the brain. The brain controls the behavior of the body’s cells.
In the book Switch on Your Brain, Dr. Caroline Leaf demonstrates the power of death and life that’s in the tongue. Dr. Leaf’s biography reads, in part:
Dr. Caroline Leaf is a communication pathologist and audiologist who has worked in the area of cognitive neuroscience since 1985. Her pioneering work on neuroplasticity—that changes in thinking actually change the brain and can effect behavioral change—paved the way for her current research on how scientific principles are supported by Scripture and vice versa.
Passages from Switch on Your Brain follow:
You are a thinking being. You think all day long, and at night as you sleep, you sort out your thinking. As you think, you choose, and as you choose, you cause genetic expression to happen in your brain. This means you make proteins, and these proteins form your thoughts. Thoughts are real, physical things that occupy mental real estate.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Whatever you believe in and hope for becomes substance on a physical level, and you act upon this. This process can move in either direction—negative or positive.
It is very interesting that every cell in the body is connected to the heart, and the brain controls the heart, and the mind controls the brain. So whatever we are thinking about affects every cell in our body.
When you make a conscious decision to focus and direct your attention correctly, you change physical matter—your brain and your body change in a healthy way. [End of quotes]
We were spoken into existence by God’s Words and by design we completely interface with them, for either good or evil.
At the time of its publication, The G.O.D. Experiments, written by G.E. Schwartz, PhD and best-selling author, screen and TV writer W.L. Simon, Dr. Schwartz’s biography read as follows:
Gary E. Schwartz is a professor of psychology, medicine, neurology, psychiatry, and surgery at the University of Arizona and director of its Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health. After receiving his doctorate from Harvard University, he served as professor of psychology and psychiatry at Yale University, director of the Yale Psychophysiology Center, and co-director of the Yale Behavioral Medicine Clinic, before moving to Arizona in 1988. He has published more than four hundred scientific papers and coedited eleven academic books.
Concerning the power of the intent of words, Dr. Schwartz writes:
In a most remarkable series of recent studies, William Tiller, professor emeritus from Stanford University, and his colleagues have been documenting how mental intentions can be imprinted in an electronic device that then alters the structure of systems, even when the devices are shipped and tested thousands of miles from where they were imprinted. In my favorite example, Tiller and colleagues have the devices imprinted with the intention that the pH of water will be increased. They then ship the devices, along with control devices not imprinted with intention, across the country for blind testing in a laboratory. The imprinted devices, when placed near water, produce an alteration in the pH of water as recorded by a computer. The control devices do not.
Tiller proposes that the mind is the original and ultimate organizing process. This parallels what the physicist Gerald L. Schroeder, PhD, author of The Science of God, proposes in the following quote:
Changing one’s paradigm is not easy. Millennia passed before humankind discovered that energy is the basis of matter. It may take a few more years before we prove that wisdom and knowledge are the basis of—and can actually create—energy, which in turns creates matter.
These are indeed paradigm-shaking experiments whose implications change our visions of everything. [End of quotes]
Dr. Andrew Newberg, with co-author Mark R. Waldman, wrote the book How God Changes Your Brain. At the time of publication, Dr. Newberg is the director of the Center for Spirituality and the Mind at the University of Pennsylvania, and one of the founders of the new interdisciplinary field called neurotheology. Mr. Waldman is an associate fellow at the Center for Spirituality and the Mind, a therapist, and the author and co-author of ten books. The following is from the book How God Changes Your Brain:
I want to bring up an important but often overlooked point. What you choose to meditate upon, or pray for, can do more than change your brain. You can damage it, especially if you choose to focus of something that makes you frightened or angry. In psychology, this is called “rumination,” and it is clearly hazardous to your health. In a Stanford brain-scan study, people who focused on negative aspects of themselves, or on a negative interpretation of life, had increased activity in their amygdala. This generated waves of fear, releasing a torrent of destructive neurochemicals into the brain. [End of quote]
Several years ago, I watched a documentary regarding the commissioning of a US Navy ship. The ship was now alive and ready to fulfill its mission. This paragraph will seem out of place at first, but be patient.
Everything is words and everything responds to words. The words we speak are prophetic for good or for evil. Your body is made up of amazing cells estimated to be 50 to 100 trillion strong and they were spoken into existence by God’s Words. Every second of the day, old, worn-out cells are being replaced with brand-spanking new replacements. Medical science tells us that in seven years—note seven—every cell in the human body is replaced, even the skeleton. To quote Dr. Lipton from The Biology of Belief:
Every day, billions of cells in your body wear out and need to be replaced. For example, the entire cellular lining of your gut is replaced every seventy-two hours. In order to maintain this continuous turnover of cells, your body needs to expend a significant amount of energy daily. [End of quote]
Dr. Leaf had this to say on cell renewal in Switch on Your Brain:
That the brain is plastic and can be changed moment-by-moment by how we direct our thinking—in other words, the choices we make—is a top idea on the bestseller lists, and it actually is the key to switching on our brains. Add to this the fact that every morning when you wake up, new baby nerve cells have been born while you were sleeping that are there at your disposal to be used in tearing down toxic thoughts and rebuilding healthy thoughts. The birth of these new baby nerve cells is called neurogenesis, which brings to mind, “The Lord’s mercies … are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:23). [End of quote]
Your brain and mind give direction to these new cells by the intent of your words. These new cells will respond directly to the words you think and speak, and physical manifestations will result. Imagine: In seven years’ time, every cell in your body is replaced with a new, healthy one. I took the high number of cells—100 trillion cells—and divided it by seven years’ worth of days—2,554 days. The average new cells coming aboard in a 24-hour period is 39,154,267,815. These God-given word cells need a word greeting.
GodSaidManSaid addresses the amazing power of the spoken word in various features, such as “Secrets and Demonstrations of Power-Speaking.” If you are interested in finding more features about the amazing power of words on GodSaidManSaid, simply type “words” in the search bar above and take your time perusing the selection that will populate your screen. Word cells deserve a word greeting. As the commander of the ship, I must come to the lectern and address the brand-new seamen. They need to know where they are and what awaits them. They need to be given a Holy Ghost welcome. I put together a deck of 3x5” index cards that I use to address my brand-spanking-new cells every morning at the end of my morning prayer. Here they are:
As we apply God’s Words to our life, the results are marvelous indeed. Deuteronomy 11:18-21:
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
There is a spiritual/biological reason why those who attend church services two or more times per week live 11% longer. Dr. Leaf said, “You live into your thoughts,” and so it is. It’s time to start a Holy Ghost dialogue. Words create physical changes.
SHIP, COME ALIVE!

Zechariah 12:10 (KJV)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
