The Mystery of Every Idle Word

Article#: 675

If the information in your computer says that 2+2=5, you will always come up with the wrong answer no matter how scholarly and articulate your calculations and research are. If the computer between your ears has been deluded into believing that God’s words in the Holy Bible are merely the words of men, then concerning matters of truth, life and eternity you will always come up with the wrong answer...your path will always be in the wrong direction and your eternity certainly the wrong ungodly place. If your computer says 2+2=5, click on to "Further with Jesus" on this web site.

GOD SAID in Matthew, Chapter 12, Verses 36 and 37:

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

MAN SAID the idea of, 1.) that there is a God and 2.) that He records the words we speak is absurd.

Now, THE RECORD. Could it be possible that the God of creation actually records every word that every man has ever spoken? Bible students know that God’s attention to words is very exacting. In Psalms 138:2, the bible says God has magnified His word above His holy name. The reason for God’s meticulous attention to words is that all things are created out of words even our bodies and the computer you’re sitting in front of. The importance of the words we speak cannot be exaggerated. James, Chapter 3, Verse 2:

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Also the book of James, Chapter 1, Verse 26 reads:

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Proverbs, Chapter 18, Verse 21 reads:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Imagine that death and life are in the power of the tongue. It is so critical that we are careful of the words we speak over ourselves, our spouse, our children, our jobs, etc. Death and life are in the wake of the words we speak. The mighty Jesus Christ speaks concerning the power of faith in Mark, Chapter 11, Verse 23:

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Take note that the final six words of that verse are dealing directly with words, "he shall have whatsoever he saith."

Proverbs, Chapter 18, Verse 20:

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

How would you like to have the words you’ve spoken in secret to be shouted from the housetop? That’s exactly what is going to happen. Jesus Christ said in Luke, Chapter 12, Verse 3:

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Have you ever considered what sound is? A sound is vibration. It can be the vibration of air molecules, piano strings or an eardrum. The vibration is a form of kinetic energy. Those of you familiar with a scientific law known as the First Law of Thermodynamics know that matter cannot be created or destroyed. That being the case, what happens to the kinetic energy that is created by sound? Where does it go? Physicist and author Donald DeYoung made the following enlightening statement:

As a sound wave spreads out from its source, the vibrational energy is shared among increasing numbers of air molecules. Soon, the sound energy is diluted and weakened below our threshold of hearing. However, the vibration energy is always "conserved" and does not disappear. Instead, the sound energy from every thunderclap contributes to the continuous "background" motion of all atoms in the air, in water, and even in the walls of a house.

The sound of a human voice provides an interesting extension to the initial question. The past vibrations caused by a particular voice, which is always unique, still remain present in the background of random atomic motion.

Every word that everyone has ever spoken remains in the background of random atomic motion! If we presently had the technology available we would literally be able to extract President Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Gettysburg Address from the air. According to science and Dr. DeYoung his words still exist.

Another amazing scientific truth is that life’s actions are also preserved in time. When your eye views something or a camera takes a picture it receives the image via the reflection of light. As Abraham Lincoln stood at the podium and gave the Gettysburg Address in 1863, the light that struck that setting was reflected into outer space at approximately 186,000 miles per second...the speed of light.

If you traveled into outer space 138 light years and if you had a telescope of sufficient quality, you would see Abe Lincoln deliver the Gettysburg Address in exact detail. Travel 6,000 light years into outer space and if you had a telescope of sufficient quality you would see great grandmother Eve eat of the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Keep in mind that God sits in the third heaven beyond the sun, moon and stars.

Simple natural science tells us that all words ever spoken have been preserved as well as earthly scenes recorded. Now consider the grand and marvelous wisdom of God, who has no beginning and has no end. The bible says His wisdom is past finding out and that man’s wisdom is foolishness unto Him.

GOD SAID that He has created us out of words and that we will give an account of the words we speak.

MAN SAID the idea of, 1.) that there is a God and 2.) that He records the words we speak is absurd.

Now you have THE RECORD.
