Noah III—of course, yes! (The Genesis Series, Part 29)

Without Jesus Christ, God’s singularity, man (for example, me and you) has no eternal value. But in Christ Jesus, just one eternal, blood-bought soul is worth more than the aggregate wealth of the entire fallen world and its universe.  God is in the soul business.  John 3:16:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  

Soon, each of us will die and stand before our Maker to give an account of what we have done with the Cross of Christ: whether we have bowed the knee and whether we have taken it up and carried it daily.  Luke 9:23-24:

23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

As sons and daughters of God, we are instructed to fixate on the Kingdom of God.  II Corinthians 4:17-18:

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Men are continually mesmerized by empty vanities—like, for example, who is the world’s richest man?  The carnal psyche is so short-sighted.  The man Christ Jesus, God’s only begotten, by whom He made the worlds (Hebrews 1:1-3) , is always and unquestionably the richest man in the universe, yet He hung on His Cross a naked pauper.  This naked pauper had no wife, no children, no home, no fortune, no earthly kingdom, and died in infamy, yet there He was: The King of kings and Lord of lords, and redeemer and emancipator of all the lost sons and daughters of Adam who will call upon His name.  Forever, by necessity, this naked pauper, God’s only begotten Son, the man Christ Jesus will reign as King of Glory eternally.  So immeasurably more valuable than this world’s kingdoms of dust.  This naked pauper gave His flesh for the life of this world.  John 6:51:

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.   

Dear visitor, do you know this naked pauper?  Have you been BORN AGAIN as Jesus declares in John 3:3?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

GOD SAID, Genesis 6:17:

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

GOD SAID, Genesis 7:17-24:

17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

MAN SAID: I believe in a God of unconditional love and tolerance.  He knows I’m weak and winks at my “inconsistencies”—you know…sins.  Commandments are not my focus.  You quote what, I John 2:4?

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 

Oh, I don’t go along with that, no way.

You have arrived at the GodSaidManSaid “Genesis Series;” this is Part 29.  Each of these features begins with the following information from the first feature:

According to a 2006 issue of Discover magazine concerning the deceased Carl Sagan: “Sagan approaches religion like any phenomenon.  He isn’t on a quest for life’s meaning, for a comforting philosophy, or even a guide to how we should treat the neighbors.  Sagan seeks truth of a demonstrable kind.  As a puckish example, he wonders why the book of Genesis didn’t include God-inspired truths…” [End of quote]

I recently reviewed an advertisement from a magazine called Free Inquiry that also has a problem with the God of Creation and the first book of the Bible, called Genesis.  Under the heading “Is God Big Enough for the Universe,” Free Inquiry writes:

The authors of Genesis proclaim that God made the heavens and earth in less than a week.  This feat must have amazed these Bronze Age authors, even though they thought the heavens extended only so far as the sky above them.  Of course, they did not know what stars, planets, or galaxies were.  We now know that the universe is so much bigger and so much more complex. [End of quote]

The BORN AGAIN scratch their heads in bewilderment.  Did these folks actually read the book of Genesis? I suppose they did, but God’s revelation is only revealed to the humbled hearts of the children of faith.  This GodSaidManSaid series will be called “The Genesis Series.”  It is our intention to travel through the entire book of Genesis and publish one major God-inspired truth after another.  We will be pulling from previous GodSaidManSaid features and adding the latest information as we go.

Evolution is a doctrine of blasphemy and the blasphemy of choice in the halls of academia worldwide.  Evolution is their “creator.”  Can the “uneducated and easily-led Christians” (as defined by Ted Turner) stand in the glare of the world’s ridicule?  I tell you much more than stand.  We tower over them as the heavens tower over the earth.  Romans 8:37 is appropriate here:

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.    

Be of good cheer, child of God!  Your childlike faith will not be disappointed, for we more than stand, WE TRIUMPH!  

GodSaidManSaid has published hundreds of pages certifying the Genesis account of Noah, his ark, and the global flood that destroyed all land creatures that held the breath of life in their nostrils with the exception of those who survived upon the ark.  Noah is a mini-series within the Gensis Series.  This is the third feature on Noah, which will address the age of the earth and the dating of rocks and fossils.  The earth and its universe are just over 6,000 years of age.  That’s it. 

Scientific discoveries follow from sundry, highly-credible sources, and they all shout YOUNG!! Settle it in your own heart today.  God’s Word is true and righteous altogether. 

Dr. Roger Gallup, a highly credentialed geologist and marine scientist, authored the book Evolution—The Greatest Deception in Modern History.  Several excerpts addressing radioisotope dating follow:

Many people believe that radioisotope techniques (such methods as carbon-14, uranium-lead, potassium-argon, and rubidium-strontium) are generally in agreement and the earth is millions of years old.  However, the reality is these various techniques produce results that don’t agree with known dates or each other (discordant) and don’t agree with stratigraphic or fossil studies (discrepant).  The following are just a few examples:

Marlstone Rock Bed near Banbury, England, is considered to be a Jurassic limestone dated “189 million years old” according to ammonite and belemnite index fossils, but radiocarbon dating of wood found in the limestone dates 23,000 years.  Uniformitarians assume that limestone was slowly deposited over millions of years on a shallow, tranquil ocean floor—a place normally absent of fossil wood.  Factoring in the aging effect of depleted carbon by the flood, the radiocarbon date is consistent with fossils being buried with limestone 4,000 years ago.  Additionally, wood found in sandstone and volcanic rock supposedly many millions of years old, according to geologic time scale, provides radiocarbon ages of just thousands of years. 

Mt. Ngauruhoe of New Zealand erupted in 1949, 1954, and 1975, but potassium-argon dating ranges from 270,000 years to 3.5 million years, rubidium-strontium dating at 133 million years, samarium-neodymium at 197 million years, and lead-lead at 3,908 million years.  If these dating processes were accurate, these radioisotope ages should indicate recent eruptions with ages of less than 50 years. 

Mt. Hualalai of Hawaii is known to have erupted in 1800, but various radioisotope dating methods report ages between 140 million years and 2.96 billion years.  If the radioisotope dating processes were accurate, then the radioisotope age should be about 168 years (date of analysis minus 1800). 

Mt. St. Helens, Washington, erupted in 1980, but potassium-argon dating provides an age of about 2.8 million years.  If the dating processes were accurate, then the radioisotope age should be about 15 years (date of analysis in 1995 minus 1980).

Cardenas Basalts of the Uinkaret Plateau (Grand Canyon) are datable by radioisotope techniques—and these basalts have been well studied by Dr. Steven A. Austin. 

As indicated in the diagram, younger basaltic lava was extruded by volcanoes at the top of the plateau sometime after the canyon was eroded.  Based on historical accounts, it appears that Native Americans actually witnessed these eruptions within the last few thousand years. 

Nevertheless, radioisotope techniques date the younger 2,000-year-old basalt between 1,270 million to 2,600 million years!  More amazingly, these younger rocks date older than the underlying, much older rocks (Precambrian basalts).  Obviously, something is wrong with these radioisotope techniques. A final excerpt from Gallop’s book on the subject of the age of the earth:

There are over 200 scientific geochronometers—that is, time clocks—that indicate that the earth, solar system, and universe are young.  [End of quote]

Nuclear physicist V.R. Cupps addresses numerous problems with today’s radioactive dating.  A few excerpts from his book Rethinking Radiometric Dating follow:

Secular scientists make assumptions about the initial condition of parent and daughter isotopes, assume the decay rates have been constant, and then make hypotheses about the age of rocks.  Unfortunately, these theories have many problems, such as evidence that decay rates can be as much as a billion times faster.  The following chapters will show that radioactive dating is untrustworthy and should not be thought of as “settled science.” 

So, how do the actual data compare with the model results?  First, the various isotope combinations used in the isochron method of dating are clearly discordant—they do not produce the same age for a given rock formation.  Second, the isochron method gives erroneous ages for rock formations of known age.  Specifically, rocks gathered from recently-erupted Mt. Ngauruhoe in New Zealand gave a K-Ar date of 270,000 to 3.5 million years, an Rb-Sr date of over 133 million years, a Sm-Nd date of nearly 200 million years, and Pb-Pb dates of 3.9 billion years—all this from rocks known to be less than 60 years old! 

Another example involves lavas from the Virunga Toro-Ankole region of the east African Rift Valleys.  Lavas from these rift valleys known to be Pliocene (<~5 million years) or younger give a Rb-Sr isochron model age of 773 million years. Igneous rocks on the rim of the Grand Canyon give dates older than the igneous rocks at the bottom, contrary to their stratigraphic placement.  Clearly, the model does not reliably reproduce  the observational data and therefore must be modified or used with appropriate caveats. 

In the end, the isochron model for radioactive dating is only a hypothesis and a rather poor one at that.  Models, no matter how elegant their mathematics, are only as good as the assumptions that go into them and how well they reproduce reality through observation and experimental data. 

Conclusion: The scientific method simply does not allow isochron-model dating to be presented as scientific fact. Back to the drawing board.  

Under the heading “Radiocarbon Dating Can’t Prove an Old Earth,” Dr. Cupps writes:

To date organic materials—such as wood or bone—scientists use the radiocarbon dating method.  At its current known half-life, radiocarbon should not exist in any detectable amount after 57,000 years, depending on the measurement system sensitivity.  Yet, radiocarbon has been detected in bones that are supposedly tens of millions of years old.  Secular scientists hypothesize contamination, even though the argument for this conclusion is highly improbable.  Radiocarbon dating does not prove an old earth.  Rather, it proves that the earth is young.  [End of quotes]

The following excerpts are from ICR’s publication, Acts & Facts, the May/June 2022 issue:

The ICR Column Project team, led by geologist Dr. Tim Clarey, has mapped out the rock record of the global Flood across the world’s continents using extensive data from petroleum industry wells, rock outcrops, seismic data, and published cross-sections.  ICR scientists have input detailed sedimentary rock data along with mega-sequence boundaries across every region, including the continental shelf. These data confirm the reality of a global geologic column created by the action of the global Flood.  This monumental and unprecedented project has shown that the global Flood is represented by the same sedimentary rocks-record trends on every continent that’s been evaluated. [End of quote]

The headline in the July/August 2022 issue of Acts & Facts reads “Asia Data Confirms Progressive Global Flood.”  Excerpts follow:

The Institute for Creation Research’s Column Project Team recently finished a two-year study of Asia.  We have now accumulated column data across five of the world’s seven continents, with Australia in progress and Antarctica in the future.  Our results reinforce earlier findings of a progressive global Flood.

After examining the rock record across five continents, we can now be more assured than ever that there was a global Flood as described in Genesis.  The rocks don’t lie! [End of quote]

The following excerpts are from the GodSaidManSaid feature, “Dumb and Dumber and 6,000 Years:”

The headline in the article published in the May 2008 issue of Acts & Facts reads, "Mitochondrial DNA and a Recent Human Origin."  The bulk of the article follows:

A team of scientists that includes Dr. Daniel Criswell of ICR has recently completed a study of mitochondrial DNA and will be presenting its work at this summer’s International Conference on Creationism.  A mitochondrion is a cellular power plant that generates most of the chemical energy the cell needs to support its functions.  Although most of a cell’s DNA is contained in the nucleus, the mitochondrion has its own small DNA molecule and this DNA is passed down from mother to child.  The study has revealed an unexpected lack of diversity within worldwide human mitochondrial lineages, despite high mutation rates, and this supports the idea that humanity is only a few thousand years old.  [End of quotes]

In the 2012 GodSaidManSaid feature, “New Science Says Bible True, Again,” we find the following:

In the September 2012 issue of Acts and Facts, science writer Brian Thomas wrote concerning the age of man and the earth under the title, “A Recent Explosion of Human Diversity.”  Several paragraphs follow:

Everyone should know that the cosmos was created.  It also stands to reason that those who “listen to Moses and the prophets,” as Jesus said, should be able to see more specific evidence of Biblical creation, including scientific discoveries.  One such evidence is human genetic diversity, which leaves evolutionary history in a quagmire, while confirming a straightforward interpretation of Genesis.

The research team investigated the amount of diversity among today’s human genes and how long it took to reach the current amount of diversity.  They concluded that human genes diversified recently.  The authors wrote, “the maximum likelihood time for accelerated growth was 5,115 years ago.”  This is a tiny fraction (0.2 percent) of the 2.4 million years of humanity that evolutionists suppose.  The explosion of human genetic diversity has occurred in parallel with, and because of, human population growth.  With each new person comes another opportunity for DNA differences to arise, either by designed genetic shuffling processes or mutations.

For example, if the evolutionary timeline is true, then human population growth and genetic diversity were miraculously unchanged for a few million years before suddenly exploding in just the last few thousand years. 

In short, why does the human genetic diversity data fit so well with Biblical creation?  Evolutionary theory provides no real answer to what caused the radical bottleneck in the worldwide human population at that time, whereas the Bible teaches that it was Noah’s Flood.  This genetics study confirms Moses and the Prophets.  Both science and Scripture show that humans have multiplied and diversified within the past 5,100 years.  [End of quote]

The headline in the December 29, 2012 issue of Science News reads, “Human diversity’s recent explosion.”  The subhead reads, “Most genetic variation came about in last 5,000 years.”  The more science looks into the invisible, the more the facts shout YES to God’s Holy Bible. 

In the book The Puzzle of Ancient Man, author Dr. Chittick quotes Ann Gibbons as she wrote in the January 2, 1998 issue of Science.  The title of the Gibbons article is, "Calibrating the Mitochondrial Clock."  Chittick writes:

What has been the result of further investigation since the 1988 and 1995 results were published?  An interesting subsequent development has been calibration of the mitochondrial clock by using actually observed data rather than by using speculations from evolutionism.  The result has shown that the clock ticks very much faster than expected.  [End of quote]

Gibbons reports:

Mitochondrial DNA appears to mutate much faster than expected, prompting new DNA forensics procedures and raising troubling questions about the dating of evolutionary events.  In 1991, Russians exhumed a Siberian grave containing nine skeletons thought to be the remains of the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II, and his family and retinue, who were shot by firing squad in 1918.  But two bodies were missing, so no one could be absolutely certain of the identity of the remains.  And DNA testing done in 1992 — expected to settle the issue quickly — instead raised a new mystery.

The mystery concerned dates relating to the clock rate.  It appears that mutations occur at a much more rapid rate than had been imagined.  Although there seems to be considerable debate about the cause of the faster rate, the faster rate has been verified by independent investigations.

Again, Gibbons says:

Regardless of the cause, evolutionists are most concerned about the effect of a faster mutation rate.  For example, researchers have calculated that "mitochondrial Eve" — the woman whose mtDNA was ancestral to that in all living people — lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago in Africa.  Using the new clock, she would be a mere 6,000 years old.  [End of quote]

The GodSaidManSaid series “The 6,000s” lists over 60 discoveries of today’s earth that shout an emphatic YES to God’s young earth and Noah:

Carter and Lightner report in the spring 2016 issue of Creation Research Society Quarterly:

Evolutionists place a timeframe of when “Mitochondrial Eve” lived by assuming common ancestry between humans and chimps and the evolutionary timescale.  However, when measured mutation rates in mitochondrial DNA were used, “Eve” was calculated to have lived around 6,000 years ago.  Of course, the evolutionists do not accept this timeframe, so they have sought ways around the implications.  More recent in-depth analysis of mitochondrial DNA has upheld this Biblical timeframe from humans and found the same pattern in other organisms as well.

Both secular and creationist researchers have employed the empirical method of developing genetic clocks and have achieved similar outcomes—i.e., dates of creature origins well within the Biblical timeframe of 6,000 years.  This research has involved the genetic analysis of humans, fruit flies, water fleas, and roundworms. 

A massive new genetic study by secular scientists analyzed the DNA of over 100,000 animal species using about five million DNA sequences.  Researchers at the Rockefeller University and the University of Basel found that the amount of DNA variation among humans was about the same as that observed for each of the many animal species they studied.  They also discovered that each kind of creature was genetically distinct—having clear genetic boundaries. 

When the researchers extrapolated this data into the timeframes of origins, they discovered that about 90% of all animal life was roughly the same, very recent age—a complete contradiction of evolutionary expectations. 

A final excerpt on dating the earth comes from the GodSaidManSaid feature, “Jesus Christ, the Singularity (Part 3):”

The following excerpts are from J.H. Tiner’s book, The World of Mathematics:

A time measuring system has to have a starting point.  The day is measured from midnight.  Years are measured from midnight on January 1.  Longer periods of time are given as AD or BC. These are references to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Until about the 1500s, people counted years based on the king who ruled at the time.  For instance, the Bible, in the Gospel of Luke, describes the year John the Baptist began preaching as “the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar” (Luke 3:1). 

Counting years by different kings can be confusing.  The 15^th year of the reign of the king of one country might be entirely different from the reign of the king of another country.

The new Gregorian calendar also officially changed how years were numbered. Jesus was called the King of kings.  People began measuring the years from the date they thought Jesus had been born.  Years after His birth are designated AD.  The letters are from anno Domini, meaning “in the year of our Lord.” Years before His birth are given the letters BC, which mean “before Christ.” [End of quote]

Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords, and every second revolves around Him because this pleases the Father. Everything revolves around Jesus Christ, God’s allness, His singularity, and that’s whether carnal man likes it or not.  Man’s science seeks the singularity and HALLELUJAH!, we have found Him!
