Imaginations of the Thoughts

You may not be devoted to Halle Berry, but at least one of your brain cells is. Neuroscientists revealed this spring that their research team had discovered individual brain cells that fire in response to particular people or places. A Bill Clinton neuron lights up at photos of the former president, but not for other ex-presidents, males--or Hillary.

Imaginations of the Thoughts

Article#: 927

How marvelous is the truth! I Chronicles 16:11-14:

11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

GOD SAID, I Chronicles 29:18:

O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:

GOD SAID, I Chronicles 28:9:

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

MAN SAID: The Bible is just archaic writings of mere men, with no special supernatural wisdom and with no real function in today’s erudite society.

Now THE RECORD. This beautiful, time-tested book, God’s Holy Bible, this marvelous Word of the Living God that is loved by the saints and despised by the sinners, is wonderful to behold. Its truths, declared thousands of years ago (truths that never change), are constantly being vindicated by scientific research. The carnal mantra that the Bible has no supernatural God-given origin is dead, and only the dead embrace it.

A visitor to GodSaidManSaid challenged us to prove the existence of God without using the Bible. This is very simple to do, but be advised that the world has many gods—false ones—yet embraced by billions. The task is to establish the Holy Bible as the inerrant Word of the Living God that defines our Creator, and what is expected of us, His creation. His Holy Book details the beginning to the end and clearly defines the way of escape. Christians are commanded in I Thessalonians 5:21, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” This feature will be just another proof that the God of the Bible is, and that His Word is beyond reproach.

A special January 2006 issue of Discover magazine, touting the top 100 science stories of 2005, printed a short review titled “Brain Scientists Find Single Cells That Can Think.” The two-paragraph review follows:

You may not be devoted to Halle Berry, but at least one of your brain cells is. Christof Koch, a neuroscientist at Caltech, and Itzhak Fried, a neurosurgeon at the University of California at Los Angeles, revealed this spring that their research team had discovered individual brain cells that fire in response to particular people or places. A Bill Clinton neuron lights up at photos of the former president, but not for other ex-presidents, males—or Hillary.

Such faithful neurons conflict with the conventional wisdom—a single cell is not supposed to know so much. With almost as many neurons in the neocortex as stars in the galaxy, there still aren’t enough for every possible input, and the researchers suspect that brain cells get reserved only for important people—like Bart Simpson. Still, every idea may have its own electrical trace. “Someday,” says Koch, “we may be able to track the footprints of your thoughts.”

I Chronicles tells us that God knows the imaginations, or images, of our thoughts. Science, again, finds itself knocking at heaven’s door.

Thousands of years before man begins to comprehend a marvelous truth of creation, God is already there with insights that only the Creator could know. Dr. Koch said, “Someday, we may be able to track the footprints of your thoughts.” If man does, he will (as always) only find that God has already been there.

Now you have THE RECORD.
