God Said Man Said

Earth Before The Sun

Big Bang cosmology is probably as widely believed as any theory of the universe in the history of Western civilization has been. It rests, however, on many untested, and in some cases untestable, assumptions. Indeed, big bang cosmology has become a bandwagon of thought that reflects faith as much as objective truth. This situation is particularly worrisome because there are good reasons to think the big bang model is seriously flawed.

Earth Before The Sun

Article#: 790

It was once said that if you tell a lie long enough, people will believe it, and of course, that's true. Believing lies just comes naturally. It's simply a matter of kinship. Our great-grandmother Eve believed a lie and her husband, Adam, followed suit. Since that day it has been like mother, like daughter; like father, like son. This terrible trait is only broken by putting to death that natural carnal heritage through the born-again experience. This begins the process of mortification-process by which carnal lies, desires, and attitudes are put to death by being replaced with the mind of Christ. Colossians, chapter 3:5 and 6:

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Lies gain traction quickly in this world. Consider some of the lies the world has accepted and consider their consequences. We were told that margarine was good and that butter (endorsed by God) was bad. We were told that shortening and partially hydrogenated oil was good and God's olive oil was neglected. We were told that evolution was true and God's creation of all things was a lie. The list is enormous. We have been told that there are many roads to eternal life and God's statement that Jesus Christ is the only way is incorrect. (See John, chapter 14, verses 5 and 6.)

To those reading this message or listening to my voice, Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. If you haven't made the decision for Christ Jesus, click onto "Further With Jesus" for the way to find entrance into the Kingdom of God. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

GOD SAID, Genesis, chapter 1, verses 14 through 19:

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

MAN SAID: There is no God; the existence of mankind is a product of the Big Bang that came out of nothing; and here we are, as well as the sun and the moon. It just took one big bang.

Now THE RECORD.  It's amazing what people are willing to believe. The fact is that the vast majority of mankind has not proven what they believe to be true and they believe it regardless of proof. This is a critical issue and all of us know someone guilty of this error. I assert that each of us has surely been guilty of this kind of proof-truth infraction. Escape from this unhealthy position is found in being obedient to I Thessalonians 5:21:

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Also II Corinthians 10:4 and 5:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

This week's subject deals directly with the creation of the cosmos. Man's scholarly position on this subject changes like the weather. What they claim is "true" today debunks their "truth" of yesterday, and what they offer as "truth" tomorrow will debunk their "truth" of today. It should be obvious to all that their positions are not truth at all. Truth is absolute and it never changes. Matthew 24:35:

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

In regard to cosmology, a feature in Nature, volume 346, had the following quote: "Cosmology is unique in science in that it is a very large intellectual edifice based on very few facts." [End of quote]

In layman's terms, cosmologist Neil Turok, whose position was outlined in Scientific American, basically said that if his field didn't cut the bologna, he was going to find a new profession.

Be sure of this: the credulity ascribed by the public to cosmologists will not hold up under closer scrutiny.

Today's offering of "truth" from cosmology to the community in regard to the creation of the world and the universe is the Hot Big Bang. It is often spoken of in the media and the classroom as fact. Although, there are many rivals to the Hot Big Bang, such as the Cold Big Bang, plasma cosmology, steadystate universe, a chronometric theory, a universe modeled on fractal geometry, and of course there's the truth, creation. Over 6,000 years ago, God created everything that you see out of that which is invisible, and He did it in just six days.

Casual adherents to the Big Bang are not aware that many in the scientific community do not share their faith. Professor of physics G. Burbidge was quoted in Scientific American:

Big Bang cosmology is probably as widely believed as any theory of the universe in the history of Western civilization has been. It rests, however, on many untested, and in some cases untestable, assumptions. Indeed, big bang cosmology has become a bandwagon of thought that reflects faith as much as objective truth. This situation is particularly worrisome because there are good reasons to think the big bang model is seriously flawed.

Anthony Peratt, a physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, published an article in a 1990 issue of The Sciences titled "Not With a Bang." The following is an excerpt:

By the end of the 1960s the big bang had become almost universally accepted, and it has now penetrated the popular consciousness so deeply that at times one forgets it's still just a theory.  [End of quote]

Aerospace America quotes Eric Lerner:

Most cosmologists believe the universe came into being 15 or 20 billion years ago in a tremendous explosion they call the Big Bang.

Theorists hoped that these traces could be detected by the sensitive instruments of COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer), a satellite launched last November by NASA. To their surprise, however, the preliminary data from COBE, announced in January, show none of these hypothetical relics of past explosions. There now seems no way to reconcile the predictions of any version of the Big Bang with the reality of the universe that we observe, no way to get from the perfectly smooth Big Bang to the imperfect lumpy universe we see today. As one COBE scientist, George Smoot of the University of California at Berkeley, put it, "Using the forces we now know, you can't make the universe we now know."  [End of quote]

One thing is certain: cosmology is a science based on very few facts.

In regard to the order of the creation of the universe, which is the GOD SAID subject in this article, this following quote was found in Science Digest:

A.G.W. Cameron, a Goddard Institute lecturer and professor at Yeshiva University in New York, suggests that the creation of the solar system might have occurred in a matter of a few thousand years. Indeed, he suggests, it might have taken place so rapidly that the earth and some of the planets could have formed shortly before the sun did—which, in view of traditional thought, is a revolutionary proposal.

Mr. Cameron is getting very close. He speaks of a universe created in a very short order and a solar system created after the earth. The Big Bang is going to need another big bang or two or three—which have already been hypothesized—if the universe we see could ever have come into existence. Just the initial Big Bang theory stretches the imagination far past Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. So that means we need another big bang and voila!  We have a sun created out of nothing!  And another big bang and we have a moon out of nothing!

God's Word states that the earth was created on the first day, and the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day.

Thousands of years ago, the Holy Bible declared how God created all things and no matter how hard man attempts to discredit it, it always remains the same—the inerrant Words of the Living God. The sons of Adam believe in the Big Bang. The sons of God believe "IT IS WRITTEN."

Now you have THE RECORD.
