How Much is Perfect Worth? (Yes, You Can be Perfect!)
All that there is has been fashioned and patterned after Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. Everything revolves around Him—every word spoken, the molecular structure of all life, the heavens and the earth, that which is visible and invisible. The Old Testament is known as a schoolmaster bringing us unto Christ (Galatians 3:24), and a shadow of the Christ to come (Colossians 2:16-17). Everything revolves around the King of Glory because this pleases the Father. Colossians 1:19:
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
The ancient Jewish sages claim that the rock on Mt. Moriah where Abraham was directed by God to sacrifice Isaac, whom God calls Abraham’s only begotten son, is the very center of the universe. God stopped Abraham from sacrificing Isaac and supplied His own sacrifice instead, a ram caught by its thorns in the thicket. Genesis 22:11-13:
11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
This rock on Mt. Moriah is located on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount and here, Abraham, known as Father Abraham (Luke 16:24), is a shadow of God, the Father. Abraham’s only begotten son, Isaac, is a shadow of the Christ to come. On Golgotha’s hill, just about 500 feet outside of Jerusalem’s Judgment Gate, Jesus Christ, the Father’s only begotten Son, is crucified for the forgiveness of our sins, and for the eternal salvation of our souls.
A battle rages over Jerusalem, its Temple Mount, and the rock of Mt. Moriah, a battle that will ignite the rage of the ages and bring on the world-ending battle of Armageddon. Jesus Christ is known as the Rock of our salvation. Everything revolves around Him. Saints, prepare for departure.
Soon, the BORN-AGAIN will be caught up to meet Jesus Christ in the clouds (I Thessalonians 4). Those who have heard of, and rejected, the Cross of Christ will be lost without remedy (II Thessalonians 2:8-12). Today, you are being presented with God’s offer of salvation and the opportunity to make your peace with God. Today, you will make a choice and your eternal destiny hinges upon it. Today, all your sins and their shame will be washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood. Today, all Satan’s bondages will be broken. Today, everything will start anew for you. GOD SAID, Ephesians 4:11-13:
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
GOD SAID, II Timothy 3:16-17:
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
GOD SAID, Psalm 37:37:
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
MAN SAID: We are animals, the highest level of the evolutionary chain, busy fulfilling our animalistic desires! There was a Big Bang out of nothing, and we formed from non-living chemicals—noses and all. Everything—all the complexity of earth, life, and the universe—was just a happy accident. Isn’t that satisfying to the inquiring mind? Here’s the best part: When you die, you simply no longer exist and there is no hell to pay! Isn’t evolution cool?!

The Word of God brings peace, purpose, and promise to its followers, and it is so marvelous to consider. The amazing fruits of salvation are bountifully demonstrated from heavenly places down to the very cellular foundation of our lives. Please note, it’s important to remember that we, the redeemed, were once where the unbelievers are—at every level, from bank robber and sexual pervert to politicians and professors. We once participated in their evil deeds and thought their empty, vacuous thoughts. One day, however, in just a single, tiny moment, a life-transforming miracle occurred. We were transformed in that mere moment, and began to walk Rt. 7 North (Obedience). Hallelujah! We were BORN-AGAIN! We saw the Light! What a glorious day it was, and is! Those we left behind have never been where we are and have never thought our thoughts. They have zero understanding of our new condition and cannot, for it is only spiritually discerned. We understand their bondages; they cannot understand our freedom.
How much would perfect be worth? The accepted axiom, “no-one is perfect,” is only partially correct. For the purpose of the Holy Ghost development of the redeemed, perfect is a required state. In Noah Webster’s 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language, Webster gives the following as one of his definitions of the word perfect: “Complete in moral excellencies.” He goes on to quote Matthew 5:48 as an example:
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
We must be perfect. To be perfect in the sight of God is to be in a condition where all one’s sins have been washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood and where one is striving to put on the mind of Christ. This is the Biblically perfect state of the developing saint. Perfection is a daily process of taking up your cross (Matthew 16:24) and following the King of Glory.
GodSaidManSaid has described the levels of a perfect state using the example of the apple. In the spring, a bud forms on the branch of the apple tree. It is a perfect little bud, but not yet ready to harvest. Isaiah 18:5 refers to the perfect bud. The perfect bud then bursts forth into a beautiful blossom. It is a perfect blossom, but not yet ready to harvest. The perfect blossom brings forth a little baby apple. The baby apple is perfect, but not yet ready to eat. The perfect baby apple grows and develops into its fully mature state. It is a perfect, fully mature apple now ready to harvest. It was perfect at each level of development.
The BORN-AGAIN are perfect at each level of development because our sins have been washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood and we are striving to put on the mind of Christ. The completion of this process occurs when we see Jesus face-to-face and we will be like Him (I John 3:2), fully developed and fully perfect—and this condition lasts forever.
Consider these verses:
🕇 James 1:3-4:
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
🕇 Ephesians 4:11-13:
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
🕇 Luke 6:40:
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
🕇 II Timothy 3:16-17:
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
🕇 Psalm 37:37:
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
🕇 Psalm 101:6:
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
🕇 II Corinthians 13:11:
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
After reading these passages, some would throw up their hands and exclaim, “What’s the use?!” But remember: It’s one stage at a time. God knows there will be missteps along the way and full provisions for us have been made:
🕇 I John 1:6-10:
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
🕇 I John 2:1-2:
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
🕇 I Corinthians 10:13:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Perfect is not optional. It is the steady state of the saved. It’s true, there will be missteps along the way, but be of good cheer! Our Father has made the way of escape.
How much is perfect worth? The benefits are staggering indeed. In the house of the perfect:
🞛 There is no carnal fear;
🞛 No depression;
🞛 No anxiety;
🞛 No hatred;
🞛 No bitterness;
🞛 No drunkenness;
🞛 No dope;
🞛 No lust permitted to reside;
🞛 No covetousness;
🞛 No slothfulness.
In the house of the perfect:
🞜 Regular church attendance—two or more times per week—leads to the redeemed living 11% longer;
🞜 Through meditation, we rebuild our brain’s grey matter in just eight weeks;
🞜 Through meditation, we are able to unlock our inner savant;
🞜 We rebuild our entire immune system in as little as 24 hours by following the Biblical fast;
🞜 We possess implicit pattern learning;
🞜 Phobias do not exist.
In the house of the perfect:
🞚 Our steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23);
🞚 Everything works together for our good (Romans 8:28);
🞚 We give thanks in everything, especially the contradictions (I Thessalonians 5:18);
🞚 We eat a sanctified Holy Ghost diet (I Timothy 4:4-5);
🞚 We drink living water that is onboard (John 7:38-39).
In the house of the perfect:
🞖 We eat bread from heaven (John 6:35);
🞖 We have eternal purpose in the ministry of reconciliation (II Corinthians 5:18);
🞖 We have an eternal promise—we will live forever. John 11:25-26:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
And imagine: In the house of the perfect, our days will be like the days of heaven upon the earth. Deuteronomy 11:18-21:
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
How much is perfect worth? The aggregate wealth of the entire world could not purchase perfect, but in Christ Jesus, it’s extended to all who call upon Him name. If all my sins are under the blood and I’m striving after Christ with all my might, I am perfect in God’s eyes. That is serious business.
Striving after Christ is central to perfect. What does striving after Christ look like? It means you are immersed in Him. Some examples of striving traits and practices would include:
🧀 Rising early in the morning to seek God’s face in prayer and His Word. See it as your morning sacrifice. Repeat when you prepare to retire for the day.
🧀 Reading God’s Word daily, and meditating upon His Words with your ear bowed down.
🧀 Speaking in new tongues as they did on the day of Pentecost, daily and frequently. If you have yet to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, or have been and have a hard time praying in the Spirit, visit the Holy Ghost Series on GodSaidManSaid. In Feature 5, expect your miracle. Do not skip ahead!
🧀 Singing unto the Lord throughout the day.
🧀 Empowering your faith. When we are tempted by the devil and vexed by the filthy conversation of the wicked on a daily basis, why would one think that attending the house of God only once a week is good enough? IT IS NOT! Attending services at least twice a week is recommended. Of course, it is true that many congregations only meet once a week. An excellent remedy is to visit a GodSaidManSaid feature daily. It would take you over three years to visit each feature once. You will be empowered!
🧀 Fasting and praying unto the Lord for various needs. You will be satisfied.
🧀 Speaking the words of faith over yourself, your family, your friends, and even your enemies.
Striving would look something like the seven examples above. Do this, and your days will be like the days of heaven upon the earth. You must be perfect—and you can, and will be! The benefits are truly way, way out of this world. Beautiful!

Zechariah 12:10 (KJV)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
