New Research Says: Let Not the Sun Go Down Upon Your Wrath

Article#: 1412

Expunging from your memory the hurtful, the shameful, the guilty thoughts is a huge, necessary, and foundational benefit of the salvation found in Jesus Christ.  Psalm 103:10-13:

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

At the place Jesus calls born again, a person becomes all new.  They receive a new Father, a new name, a new, powerful purpose, a new eternity—everything becomes new.  II Corinthians 5:17:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Our past has been buried with Christ.  Even water baptism replicates the born-again experience.  As we are immersed in water, it represents being buried with Christ.  Our old man, old nature, is put to death and buried in the watery grave, and the new man in Christ Jesus emerges from the water (Romans 6).

The born-again no longer carry the burden of the past.  God no longer remembers our sins.  It is ungodly for us to dredge up the forgiven and forgotten sins of the past.  It is ungodly.

Have you been born again?  Are you ready to shed your sinful past and embrace an exciting new life in Christ?  Today is your day of salvation.  Click onto “Further With Jesus” for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God.  NOW FOR TODAY'S SUBJECT.

MAN SAID:  The God of the Bible does not exist and the Bible’s dictums have no relevant value.

Now, THE RECORD.  How can the Bible be the writings of mere men when thousands of years prior to science’s announcement of discovery, they find that God’s Word was already there and has staked out its positions, declaring amazing truths that only the Creator Himself could know?  Welcome to GodSaidManSaid feature article 648 that will once again certify the glorious inerrancy of the Word of God.  All of these amazing articles shout YES! to the Word of God and are archived here in text and streaming audio.  These features are powerful faith-builders and are excellent weapons to be employed in the battle for the souls of men.

The example of God’s excellent knowledge displayed in this feature is not an anomaly.  The Word of God is laden with marvelous supernatural statements—statements only the Creator could know, such as Psalm 139 that describes the modern day concept of DNA.  Verses 14-16 read:

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

It is now known that DNA uses a four-letter alphabet to write your instructions for life and writes them in a book that scientists have dubbed “the book of life.”  Instructions are laid down in sentences, paragraphs, chapters, and book—instructions for every system and member of the body.  “…and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”  When one digs a little deeper, the odd grammatical structure of Psalms 139 is no longer odd at all.  Recorded in this passage 3,000 years ago was knowledge only the Creator could know.

The Biblical commandment in Ephesians 4:26 (Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:) is once again in the news.   Several paragraphs from a December 29, 2012 feature in Science News under the heading of “You really can learn while you sleep” follows:

You may think of sleep as a time of repose.  But scientists discovered this year that, under the right circumstances, your slumbering brain can sign on for the night shift.

While visiting the Land of Nod, people might improve their musical abilities, learn to associate a smell with a sound, or solidify negative feelings.  These results, and others like them, are pushing the boundaries of what scientists think the sleeping brain accomplishes.

“We want to understand where the borders lie between what we can and cannot learn during sleep,” says Anat Arzi of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.  This year, her team described the brain’s ability to learn to associate a particular tone with the smell of rotting fish while fast asleep.  Another study found that people can also sharpen existing skills during a nap.  After listening to a nap-time song, volunteers were better at hitting the right notes on a keyboard.

The science isn’t clear enough to suggest that students should, for example, play Japanese vocabulary tapes overnight, but the results do show that the sleeping brain assimilates information.  And the implications go beyond cramming for a test.

Sleeping after a painful experience may lock negative memories into the brain, for instance.  Staying awake during a crucial window may help lessen a trauma’s emotional impact.  [End of quote]

Science News reported on the latest discoveries concerning the brain and sleep in several features in 2012.  Two sentences from the excerpt just quoted, for purposes of this discussion, bear repeating:

Sleeping after a painful experience may lock negative memories into the brain, for instance.  Staying awake during a crucial window may help lessen a trauma’s emotional impact.

While visiting the Land of Nod, people might improve their musical abilities, learn to associate a smell with a sound, or solidify negative feelings.  [End of quotes]

The more they search, the more they find themselves facing the Words of God.  Thousands of years before man’s vaunted science begins to understand the workings of a particular situation, he is shocked—or at least should be shocked—to discover that the Word of God is already there.

GOD SAID, Ephesians 4:26:

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

MAN SAID:  The God of the Bible does not exist and the Bible’s dictums have no relevant value.

Now you have THE RECORD.
