Is America A Christian Nation? — Part One

Article#: 828

Is Jesus Christ the foundation and Lord of America? Does the American Constitution guard against the intrusion, and even the mention of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the public forum? Was the American Constitution authored by deists and agnostics? This is the first of a four-part series that will declare history as it really happened.

Carnal men have been busy attempting to cast off the Word of God. Psalms 2:1-3:

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

They will, of course, ultimately fail.

In the 1960s and 70s, a man by the name of Anton LaVey, the high priest of the Church of Satan, was saying that the print industry, radio, television, and motion picture industry—and now he would have added the internet—are the pulpits of Satan and that the journalists, commentators, and entertainers are his preachers. The responsibility of Satan’s preachers is to seduce man to join in his rebellion against righteousness. The question often arises whether or not these “preachers” are aware of Satan’s agenda. The answer is: It’s irrelevant whether or not they know, for Satan surely knows and he takes the rebellious at his will (II Timothy 2:26).

The fields of education and politics are also rife with the spirit of rebellion. According to David Horowitz’s Center for the Study of Popular Culture and the American Enterprise Institute, over 90% of college instructors and professors in America’s major universities such as Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, Penn State, Maryland, and Brown are registered with the Democratic Party, whose national political platform includes abortion, partial birth abortion, and the promotion of homosexuality. This consortium is breaking the bands and casting off the cords—somewhat akin to mother Eve, whose downfall included a tree “to make one wise.” Unless they repent of their evils, they will soon stand before an angry God at the Great White Throne Judgment. It will be the best and most important day of your life. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT

GOD SAID, Psalms 33:12:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

GOD SAID, Psalms 144:9-15:

9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

10 It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

America was founded upon the only begotten Son of God, the rock Christ Jesus, and all of her blessings and greatness are a product of God’s benevolence.

MAN SAID: This is not a Christian nation. It was founded by deists and agnostics. We must rally behind the concept of the separation of church and state, and remove all symbols of Jesus Christ.

Now THE RECORD. Nearly all the quotes in this series of articles are from David Limbaugh’s 416- page book Persecution, and from the Christian Defense Fund’s small but powerful 77-page book, One Nation Under God.

Robyn E. Blummer, a columnist of the St. Petersburg Times, wrote:

The religious right has spent more than twenty years chipping away at the wall of separation between church and state, trying in Taliban-like ways to inject religion into public schools and the operations of government. [End of quote]

There surely has been some chipping away, and in this article it will become abundantly clear who is doing the chipping.

Whether the U.S. is a Christian nation is a question that has been gaining considerable attention. The politically correct historical revisionists have been busy rewriting history to deny and/or discredit any Christian American roots. The ungodly have been busy defaming the good handiwork of God and stealing His glory. Organizations such as the ACLU coupled with liberal media, liberal academia, liberal politicians, and liberal judges have joined together in an anti-Christ movement. Hiding behind the oft-spouted false rhetoric of separation of church and state and it's like, they have succeeded in getting prayer and the reading of the Bible out of our public schools. They have succeeded in blocking the name of Jesus Christ from being raised at graduation commencements and in basically any public forum, claiming that the American Constitution forbids it. At the time of this writing, the anti-Christ movement has challenged the words “under God” in the American Pledge of Allegiance. The Cross of Jesus is being removed from the logo of the City of Los Angeles.

Was America’s foundation truly laid upon Jesus Christ? Does our Constitution expect the public exclusion of Jesus Christ? In 1492, the Americas were discovered by a man named Christopher Columbus. His name, Christopher, means “Christ-bearer,” and he considered it his mandate from God to carry the message of Jesus Christ to the heathen world. The following statement from Columbus himself is from his book titled Book of Prophecies:

At this time I have seen and put in study to look into all the Scriptures, cosmography, histories, chronicles and philosophy and other arts, which our Lord opened to my understanding (I could sense His hand upon me), so that it became clear to me that it was feasible to navigate from here to the Indies; and He unlocked within me the determination to execute the idea. And I came to your Highnesses with this ardor. All those who heard about my enterprise rejected it with laughter, scoffing at me. Neither the sciences which I mentioned above, nor the authoritative citations from them, were of any avail. In only your Highnesses remained faith and constancy. Who doubts that this illumination was from the Holy Spirit? I attest that He (the Spirit), with marvelous rays of light, consoled me through the holy and sacred Scriptures...encouraging me to proceed, and, continually, without ceasing for a moment, they inflame me with a sense of great urgency....

And then again, he writes:

I have already said that for the execution of the enterprise of the Indies, neither reason, nor mathematics, nor world maps were profitable to me; rather the prophecy of Isaiah was completely fulfilled. [End of quote]

According to Columbus himself, the Americas were discovered in the name of Jesus.

The first colonial grant made to Sir Walter Raleigh in 1584...and the grant authorizing him to enact statutes for the government of the proposed colony provided that they ‘be not against the true Christian faith...’

King James the VI of Scotland, who was also King James the I of England, was the founding monarch of the United States. During his reign, the first successful colonies in America were established. The King himself authorized and wrote the charter to settle the Colony of Virginia. The charter was titled “the Evangelistic Grant Charter.” Part of the charter that was written in 1606 follows:

“To make habitation...and to deduce a colony of sundry of our people into that part of America, commonly called Virginia...in propagating of Christian religion to such people as yet live in darkness...to bring a settled and quiet government.” [End of quote]

Pilgrim pastor John Robinson wrote the following letter in 1620 to the Mayflower pilgrims:

Thus this holy army of saints is marshaled here on earth by these officers, under the conduct of their glorious Emperor, Christ. Thus it marches in this most heavenly order and gracious array, against all enemies, both bodily and ghostly: peaceable in itself, as Jerusalem, terrible too the enemy as an army with banners, triumphing over their tyranny with patience, their cruelty with meekness and over death itself with dying.

Thus, through the Blood of that spotless Lamb, and that Word of their testimony, they are more than conquerors, bruising the head of the Serpent; yea, through the power of His Word, they have power to cast down Satan like lightning; to tread upon serpents and scorpions; to cast down strongholds, and everything that exalteth itself against God. [End of quote]

The provisional government of Connecticut, instituted in 1638 and 1639, began with the following declaration:

And well knowing where a people are gathered together, the Word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union...there should be an orderly and decent government established according to God...to maintain and preserve the liberty and purity of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus which we now profess...of the said Gospel [which] is now practiced among us. [End of quote]

One hundred twenty three of America’s first 126 colleges were founded on Jesus Christ. Princeton University, founded in 1746, originally called “The College of New Jersey,” was headed up by Reverend Jonathan Dickinson who said, “Cursed be all that learning that is contrary to the cross of Christ.” [End of quote] The Americas were discovered in Jesus’ name. The United States was colonized in Jesus’ name. Here, governments were established in Jesus’ name, and America’s people were educated in Jesus’ name. The glorious blessings of God have been bestowed upon this land in Jesus’ name.

GOD SAID, Psalms 33:12:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Now you have THE RECORD.
