God Said Man Said

The Fat Epidemic

God required the things to be consumed by fire which would be harmful to the eater. In comparison, we are called a living sacrifice unto God, and we’re required to cast upon the altar of fire the things in our lives that are not good for us - things which do not glorify God. One of those things required in the Old Testament was the fat of the offering. God said, "Eat no fat." He gave perfect instruction thousands of years before modern science knew why. This is just another proof that God is. (Originally released January 2003. Updated June 2011.)

The Fat Epidemic

Article#: 1270

Today is the day of salvation and surely this is a limited-time offer. Many of you visiting this message are not yet born-again — born a second time — this time of the Spirit of God. This is your invitation to be delivered from Satan’s bondage of sin. This is your opportunity to have life and have it more abundantly. This is your chance to have all sin and shame expunged from your record. This is your time to become a new creature in Christ Jesus and attain a life of eternal purpose, but this offer has time constraints. Hebrews 3:14-15:

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Proverbs 29:1:

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

The fact that you are here means there is hope. The fact that you are here means there is still time. Today is your day of salvation. Click onto "Further With Jesus" for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God. Born again. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

GOD SAID, Exodus 29:13:

And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

GOD SAID, Leviticus 3:16-17:

16 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’S.

17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

MAN SAID: These easily-led, uneducated, Bible-thumpers have to check their brains at the door when they attend church.

Now THE RECORD. I am thoroughly impressed that when modern academia arrives at an understanding — a discovery of monumental proportions — that the most "unsophisticated" student of the Word of God, from the most remote, backwater place on earth is already there. Consider that non-Biblical academic discovery has attested to the following:

• A world that had an actual beginning

• Light before the sun

• A paradise once upon the earth

• The fall of man

• Adam’s rib, the right candidate

• Man is made out of dirt

• mtDNA and the first woman, the mother of us all

• One man, the father of all mankind

• In the beginning all creatures on the earth were vegetarian

And these academic discoveries are found in the first three chapters of the Bible, written thousands of years ago. The children of faith were already there.

This is GodSaidManSaid feature article #536. These features remove all reasonable doubt on whether there is a God, and whether or not He is the God of the Textus Receptus, the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible. Every Thursday eve, God willing, they grow by one. Welcome to GodSaidManSaid. Thank you for coming.

The sacrifices offered unto God, after proper preparation, were eaten by the Levite priests and their families and by the person who brought the sacrifice and his family. God required those things to be consumed by fire which would be harmful to the eater. In comparison, we are called a living sacrifice unto God, and we are required to cast upon the altar of fire those things in our lives that are not good for us — those things which do not glorify God. One of those things required in the Old Testament was the fat of the offering. God said, "Eat no fat." God gave perfect instruction thousands of years before modern science knew why. This is just another proof that God is.

The problem with certain fats and the result of eating them, by the medical fields’ accounts, have reached epidemic proportions. Two out of three adult Americans is classified as obese — not just overweight, but obese — and a large percentage of all children aged 6 to 17 are overweight. Two- thirds of America is overweight and the health ramifications are serious.

According to the Mayo Clinic’s 10-year study, published in the August 2001 issue of Clinical Cardiology, heart attacks occur in the lives of the overweight 3.6 years earlier than the general population and 8.2 years sooner in the lives of the obese.

The following excerpt is from USA Weekend:

This year alone, 50 million Americans will follow some sort of diet. The ranks of the overweight rose 61% between 1991 and 2000, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Surgeon General reports 300,000 people die each year and 39.3 million workdays are lost for obesity- related reasons. Diabetes, heart disease and hypertension are just some of the real and terrible costs.  [End of quote]

Fat can impair brain function, cause weakening of bones, promote osteoporosis, lead to macular degeneration, and much more.

The following question and its answer are published in an article on WebMD:

"If I eat fat, will I increase my risk of heart disease?"

"The answer depends on what kind of fat you eat. For health reasons, you want to eat more unsaturated liquid fats found in plants, nuts, oil and fish rather than hard saturated fats found in meats, butter and other animal foods. When appropriately included in the diet, unsaturated fats do not elevate your risk of heart disease. Also, limit processed foods such as crackers, commercially baked goods and stick margarines that list partially hydrogenated vegetable oils among the ingredients on their food labels. Hydrogenation converts the ’good’ oil into harder fat, which has characteristics of saturated fats." [End of quote]

NOTE: The Scriptures correct WebMD in the matter of meats (Biblically clean animals) and butter, listed negatively above. Meats properly prepared, purged of blood and fat, are good for food. Butter is highly endorsed by the Word of God and also by science. The following excerpt is from the GodSaidManSaid feature, "Margarine and Nutritional Armageddon:"

The esteemed British medical journal, The Lancet, reported on a health study that followed 85,000 nurses since 1976. The study shows that the consumption of just four teaspoons a day of partially hydrogenated vegetable oil margarine increases the risk of coronary heart disease. And how about this: butter has no adverse effect.

The health periodical Second Opinion had this to say:

I’ve preached for years about the dangers of eating margarine as a substitute for real butter. Now the devastating results are starting to hit hard. In addition to it being nutrient-free, margarine is a saturated hydrogenated fat that causes our neurochemistry to go into a tailspin.

The doctor continues:

In contrast, essential fatty acids (such as butter) are just that, essential. The difference between trans-fatty acids and essential fatty acids is the exact difference between depression and a normal emotional state of mind. It’s also a major factor that needs to be considered in greater detail in Alzheimer’s and other brain illnesses. [End of quote]

In order to control cholesterol levels, saturated fats must be controlled because the saturated fat found in meat, for instance, increases blood cholesterol levels. All animal meat has a level of fat interspersed throughout, but the concentrated white fat that you can see, God requires to be removed from the animal and to be consumed by fire. Remember, the fat is the LORD’s. Also God’s commandment, for example, to roast the passover lamb over an open flame, would eliminate much of the remaining fat that is distributed throughout the meat. The God of creation understands the seriousness of the fat issue. Saturated fat found predominantly in animal products raises cholesterol more than any other form of fat.

For years man has disregarded God’s commandments concerning fat. He has ground the fat into the hamburger, sausage, etc., and rendered it into lard to be used and consumed at his supper table. The fat situation has now become an epidemic.

Extensive information exists concerning the fat epidemic. This brief review once again declares the supernatural inerrancy of Holy Writ. Thousands of years before modern science began knocking on the door of truth, the most unsophisticated student of the Bible was already there. God’s Word is the place to build a life.

Now you have THE RECORD.
