Why We Believe (Are You Surprised?) -- Part 3

I need to be fully persuaded that God and His Word are true and righteous altogether, or the mountain won’t move. My absolutes must be absolutely absolute. 

When one is BORN AGAIN—born a second time, this time of the Spirit of God—everything changes. 

We start this journey into eternity believing in what the carnal world would see as improbable, impossible and even ludicrous things.

The day I was BORN AGAIN:

⦁ I believed everything in God’s Bible was true;
⦁ I believed that He created the earth, it’s universe, and all its lifeforms in six 24-hour days, just like Genesis said;
⦁ I believed that man fell in the Garden of Eden, beginning in an act of unbelief and disobedience;
⦁ I believed that God made a way of escape for all the world’s fallen, and it’s only found in the Cross and shed blood of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son;
⦁ I believed that Jesus Christ, God’s Messiah, was born of the Virgin Mary;
⦁ I believed all of the ministry of Jesus Christ recorded in the Holy Book, miracles and all;
⦁ I believed that Jesus Christ was crucified on the Passover, and that God raised Him from the tomb on the third day, and that forty days later Jesus ascended into heaven to sit on the right hand of God;
⦁ I believed that I am BORN AGAIN because the Spirit of God says so;
⦁ I believed that, through Jesus Christ, I have all power and all authority over the devil’s attempted intrusions in my life; and
⦁ I believed that the Lord Jesus will soon return in the clouds to receive His church unto Himself.

At BORN AGAIN, we simply believe every jot and every tittle. This revelation is out-of-this-world. 

Dear visitor, have you yet to be BORN AGAIN as Jesus says in John 3:3?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

You are not here by happenstance.  You have been drawn by God into the valley of decision.  Joel 3:14:

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

Today, you have no choice but to make a choice.  Your options are only two.  Jesus proclaims the great commission in Mark 16:15-16:

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Will you choose the Christ of Calvary?  In just moments, I will invite you to follow me in a simple prompt, and if you follow from your heart, everything changes for you today—and I mean EVERYTHING!  Today…all your sin will be washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood.  You will be entirely clean.  Today…all of Satan’s bondages in your life will be broken…every single one.  You will be completely free.  Today is your day of salvation.  Here is the prompt I promised: Click onto Further with Jesus for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God.  NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The redeemed know the Word of God is true and righteous altogether, not because of third-party certifications—NO! The BORN AGAIN know that the Word of God is true, not because of our great, natural analytic skills—NO! The children of God know the Word of God is true, every jot and every tittle, by a certifying standard that sits high above all this world’s academic cogitations.  The very truth of our salvation is established in heavenly places and is not of this world, and it is certainly not subject to it’s so very temporary foolishness.

Romans 8:14-17:

I Corinthians 1:18:

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.  

I believe Adam and Eve existed because the Bible said so, not because microbiology knocked the evolutionists on their aggregate ears when they discovered—YES, all of the world’s present population is the product of one common mother and one common father. Science knows these common parents as mtDNA Eve and Y-Chromosome Adam.  I believe in Noah’s Ark and the global flood because the Bible said so, not because there are fish fossils on every mountain peak.  The children of God believe the Bible to be true and righteous altogether, not because of third-party attestation but because the Bible is certified TRUE by the Spirit of Truth in Christ Jesus that resides in heavenly places and in the redeemed. 

In Dr. Guillen’s book, Believing is Seeing, the following childlike but prescient statement is given:

The late Swiss-American logician Verena Huber-Dyson put it this way: “There is more to truth than can be caught by proof.” I prefer simply saying, truth is bigger than proof. [End of quote]

Our truth reigns supreme over the clamor for proof, but it is exciting to watch the academics confirm the beautiful Book, even if inadvertently. Precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line: Here a little, and there a little (Isaiah 28:10). 

The structure and style of the GodSaidManSaid original proof series, which was first produced about half a century ago, was delivered in Holy Ghost soundbites.  A great decimator of unbelief is a series on GodSaidManSaid titled “Undeniable Proof—Every Jot and Every Tittle” and it houses 400 just such Holy Ghost soundbites. 

GodSaidManSaid is built on four proof platforms that establish beyond any reasonable doubt that God IS and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6:

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Proof platform number one is Archaeology.  In the Archaeology category, you’ll also find ancient history and societal records, geology, and various other scientific disciplines.  This proof category clearly certifies the majority-text Holy Bible as a supernaturally accurate and inerrant history book—all miracles included.

Proof platform number two is Prophecy.  In this category, it is established that God’s beautiful Book was penned by holy men but authored by God, who knows the end from the beginning. Here, the laws of probability are engaged.  For example:

⦁ A prophetic statement in the Word of God actually comes to pass.

⦁ The prophecy and its probabilities and contingencies are considered, and we compute the odds of man making the prophetic statement and seeing it come to pass.

⦁ In an example, the odds of a mere man making these predictions and seeing them come to pass is one chance in five billion.  The logical conclusion, then, would be that the odds are 4,999,999,999 out of 5,000,000,000 that the prophetic statement was God. 

Proof platform number three is GodSaidManSaid the Record.  This website draws its name from this category.  On this platform, God’s Word is cited on a particular subject, and man’s contradiction to it noted.  The results of man’s disregard is then recorded. 

Inherent within every commandment and precept of God is a blessing or a curse. Because God’s Word is true and righteous altogether, obeying the commandments and precepts yields the bountiful fruit of doing the right thing.  Because God’s Word is true and righteous altogether, disobeying yields the deadly fruit of doing the wrong thing.  It’s just that simple.

Galatians 6:7:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Proof platform number four is the Historicity of Jesus Christ.  If only they could find a body, but alas…no success. You’ll find certifying third-party attestation from history, geology, and beyond.  YES! to His prophetic and miraculous virgin birth and the 23 missing Adamic chromosomes.  YES! to His ministry, to the miracles, to His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension into heaven.  YES! to His soon return a second time, and YES! to His empty tomb. 

Our truth reigns supreme over the clamor for proof, but it is exciting to watch the academics confirm the beautiful Book. 

Proof platform number 3 is GodSaidManSaid, The Record. This category contains 1,075 features, and it is one glorious confirmation of God’s truth after another.  A few examples follow:

1. God said He created Eve, Adam’s helpmeet, out of one of Adam’s ribs.  Genesis 2:21-23:

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Man said “foolishness!”  Now consider Genesis 3:16:

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Medical biologists were shocked to find male DNA in the female brain.  It shouldn’t be there!, they exclaimed.  However, it is very common, and if the woman’s desire is not to her husband, marriage stands no chance of success.  Why is male DNA in the female brain and why is her desire to her husband? We suggest the puzzled scientist consider Adam’s rib. 

2. It can’t be done! You cannot disregard a commandment of God without suffering the curse.  The curse is simply the result of doing the wrong thing.  Proverbs 26:2:

As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

A series on GodSaidManSaid deals with the amazing zeroes: 

Example: In Exodus 20:15, God commands, “Thou shalt not steal.” 

In the camp of the disobedient: According to the FBI, there are nearly 780,000 burglaries committed annually in the United States, or about 8 million globally. 

In the camp of the obedient: The number of burglaries committed is zero. 

God commands against all sexual activity outside the marriage bed.

Example: God strictly commands against fornication of any kind, including bestiality, premarital sex, homosexuality, and more. 

In the camp of the disobedient:Worldwide, the WHO reports more than one million sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day.  Every year, there are an estimated 374 million new cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis.

In the camp of the obedient:Those negatively infected? ZERO. ZERO.  ZERO.  ZERO.

EXAMPLE: God commands against murder. It’s in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:13). 

In the camp of the disobedient:The CDC reports the United States had 22,830 homicides in 2023—murder and manslaughter. For argument’s sake, let’s assume that, in 90% of these homicides, the offender only murdered once. That translates to roughly 20,547 murderers in the US in 2022. 

In the camp of the obedient:The number of murderers is ZERO.

When God says YES, man says NO only to his great pain and sorrow.

3. God said, Proverbs 9:1: “Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:” These words were penned approximately 3,000 years ago—a strange and peculiar grouping of words. Today’s neuroscience is just beginning to understand its meaning.  Renowned neuroscientist Dr. Caroline Leaf writes in her new book The Gift in You  concerning the mystery of the seven pillars.  A few excerpts from Dr. Leaf’s book follow:

The implications are that wisdom and good judgment are built and take time to develop.  Throughout the Word of God, we are instructed to get wisdom.  It’s not a choice.  It’s an instruction to build a house of wisdom in our minds. 

Scientifically, the brain is also built on Seven Pillars, which, when used properly, produce clear, intelligent, and wise thinking.  These seven main areas of the brain were revealed through imaging techniques that observe activity in people’s brains as they perform different tasks. 

We will discuss these Seven Pillars more, but it is important that God’s Word and His wisdom are the strongest foundation.  Brain science is very clear on the benefits of thinking deeply to develop the brain’s intelligence and wisdom.  As a popular phrase in the world of neuroscience puts it, “Use it or lose it.”  The more you think, the more your brain grows, making you wiser and more intelligent. 

The development of your brain is under your own control.  We are not victims of biology or environment.  Our brains were designed with an ability to restructure and rewire, to control our reactions to circumstances and events in our lives, and to develop our wisdom. 

You perceive the world in the creative brilliance of your mind through seven types of thought. 

Dr. Leaf goes on to define the Seven Pillars:

So, the neurons in the front of the brain—the frontal cortex that is the location of the Intrapersonal Pillar—deal with decision-making, planning, deep-analyzing, shifting between thoughts, realizing goals, and developing strategies.  When we are introspective, we are using this type of thought. 

Just behind the Intrapersonal Pillar is the Interpersonal Pillar, which is involved in social interaction, communications, turn-taking, and tuning into the needs of others. 

The Intrapersonal Pillar is followed by the Linguistic Pillar, which deals with spoken and written language. 

After the Linguistic Pillar is the Logical/Mathematical Pillar, which deals with reasoning, logic, scientific thinking, numbers, and problem solving. 

Next is the Kinesthetic Pillar that provides sensory and body awareness. 

Then comes the Musical Pillar, which of course is music-based, but also includes the ability to read between the lines and distinguish “gut instincts.” 

Finally, there is the Visual/Spatial Pillar at the back of the brain, which is where we imagine and form mental maps. 

Your unique thinking pattern requires that you think by moving through the seven different pillars of the brain’s thought in a particular order, with a signature amount of bandwidth given to that function.

When we start exploring the Seven Pillars of thought, an integral principle is that all seven of these pillars work together very, very intimately. They don’t work separately, and they are all interconnected.  [End of quotes]

4. Does all creation sing?  I Chronicles 16:23, 31-33:

23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; show forth from day to day his salvation.

31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.  

Psalm 96:1

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

The idea that all creation sings was once roundly ridiculed as Sunday school gibberish, but not so much anymore. Now the science of bioacoustics has its own understanding.  Earlier in this series, you read about the great whale choir.  A few foundational excerpts follow before we head on to more staggering proof that God’s Word is true and righteous altogether.  GodSaidManSaid feature, "God’s Word Vindicated Again! All of creation sings—literally.  Consider these paragraphs from the September 2016 issue of Acts and Facts:  

Hearing is beautifully represented in the animal world.  Experts say fin whales can hear the bleeps of other fin whales from more than 500 miles away.  Some scientists even claim their hearing range is thousands of miles. 

Humpback whales are famous for singing songs that can last up to 30 minutes.  They sing in rhyme, and the songs can be heard by other male whales.  It’s passed along the water so that an entire ocean may have all the humpback whales singing the exact same song at the exact same time—a kind of great whale choir.  [End of quote]

Why is there this phenomenon of song and music? It transcends every nationality line and, for that matter, all of creation. It exists because it is part of the spiritual construction of all life and all of God’s creation is designed to harmonize with it. Within music is found great benefit to all of life and God invests much instruction time in our owner’s manual, the Holy Bible.

The headline of the September 2018 feature in Discover magazine reads, “Hearing Nemo,” and the subhead reads, “How scientists discovered a symphony under the sea.”  A few excerpts follow:

These habitat soundscapes are subtly composed.  Recent studies are revealing that, far from this being an impromptu free-for-all, fish don’t simply yell and shout however and whenever they want:  They fit their voices together like an orchestra of instruments in a melodic musical score.  [End of quotes]

Short paragraphs, sentences, and phrases from Dr. Bakker’s book The Sounds of Life spotlight how today’s science of bioacoustics reveals the marvels of God’s singing creation: 

🎼 (Pg. 16) Eventually, Navy researchers realized that these monstrous cries were the distinctive sounds of whales.  Diving into the ocean, the whales were communicating with one another along the SOFAR channel, where their songs traveled unimpeded across hundreds and even thousands of miles. The whales had long ago perfected what the military had only just discovered.

🎼 (Pg. 21)The whale songs, Katy Payne realized, were as complex as an intricate piece of music. 

🎼 (Pg. 23) Decades after Katy’s discoveries, song transmission among humpback whales is now accepted as evidence of the planetary scale of humpback whale social interactions, vocal learning, and cultural evolution: a song originating in one part of the Pacific can gradually spread to other humpback populations across the entire ocean basin. 

🎼 (Pg. 33)When you lower the hydrophone into the ocean, it’s a complete cacophony of voices and singers.  It’s like … the twilight zone, a completely different world—belugas, bowheads, and bearded seals and ice. 

🎼 (Pg. 84) Healthy coral reefs, Tim Gordon knew, are lively with sound; the unfolding waves of sound are like an underwater orchestra or the endless improvisation of a jazz band. On the Great Barrier Reef, the humpback whales sing the soprano melody.  Fish supply the chorus: whooping clownfish, grunting cod, and crunching parrotfish.  Sea urchins scrape, resonating like tubas.  Percussion is the domain of chattering dolphins and clacking shrimp, who use their pincers to create bubbles that explode with a loud bang.  Lobsters rasp their antennae on their shells like washboards.  Rainfall, wind, and waves provide the backbeat.  To get the best seat, you would have to attend the concert in the middle of the night at the full moon, when fish chorusing typically crests. But you wouldn’t necessarily need to have a front row seat: mass fish choruses can be heard up to 50 miles away, and whale sounds resonate for hundreds of miles. 

🎼 (Pg. 120) Professor George Pierce, an early pioneer in communications engineering, lead research into decoding the sounds of insects, becoming one of the world’s first bioacousticians.  The implications of Pierce’s research would not be widely understood until many years later.  Yet at the end of his life, Pierce displayed a keen sense of the future relevance of his work.  His final book, The Songs of Insects, focused on his work with crickets and grasshoppers rather than summing up his influential career in wireless communications.  [End of quotes]

The brooks and the rivers and the oceans sing, yes, but be sure that the dry land was not to be absent from the choir.  The performers in the land choir include the wind, and the rain, and the peculiar melodies of the songbirds, and the locusts and the crickets, along with the bullfrog, and the fields of grain, and the trees of the forest, and don’t forget the millions of songs in the books, on the radio, on TV and the internet, and on our lips.  Isaiah 55:12:

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Consider the marvelous beauty of the human ear that was designed to enjoy the entertainment.  I live in the country, and on a lazy summer evening, you can sit on the porch with a cup of tea and be serenaded by the breeze, the rustle in the trees, and the crickets, the bullfrogs, and their supporting cast—the handiwork of the God of music who is the God of all. God said all creation sings.  Just “Sunday School gibberish?”  

5. Because God’s Word is true and righteous altogether, one cannot disregard it without suffering the curse, the result of doing the wrong thing.  One of the many chapters in the Bible dealing with God’s dietary laws is Leviticus Chapter 11.  Here, you’ll find a list of dos and don’ts, and we will highlight Verses 13, 19, and 24:

13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,

19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

It’s called COVID-19, and the world was sent reeling as a result of it.  We are not clear of it yet, and maybe never will be. This deadly disease came from the bat, whether from the wet market or the lab—COVID came from the bat.  The head of the lab in Wuhan, China, was affectionately known as “Bat Woman” even before the Covid disaster.  Thousands of years ago, God commands humanity NOT to eat the bat, or even to handle its carcass.  It’s true: “…so the curse causeless shall not come."  COVID-19 and Leviticus 11:19.

We believe because God’s Word said so, and that’s a standard that sits in heavenly places high above all the world’s academic cogitations.  Our Truth is superior to the proof they clamor for, but it is exciting to watch the academics confirm the beautiful Book, even if inadvertently. 

Be of good cheer, child of God, our Father’s Word is true and righteous altogether…a place to build a life that will last forever.
