Everlasting Teeth
How could pre-flood man live 500-900 years without wearing out their teeth? Dental hygiene in most areas leads me to wonder. I cannot believe those trying to disprove the pre-flood time do not jump onto this thought. Our teeth today have trouble making it through our lives. Please assist. I cannot wait!Audio Options: | MP3 |

GodSaidManSaid received the following e-mail from Ken:
Wow, what a lot of work. I enjoy this site and spend hours on it every time I have the chance at hotels.
It likely is an often repeated question, what can we get for free in downloads? So I will not ask. The implied question should be enough. I would like to listen to your work while I fly.
One more comment, what is your most current work?
With your background, I suspect either you or Kent Hovind can answer this question. How could pre-flood man live 500-900 years without wearing out their teeth? Dental hygiene in most areas leads me to wonder. I cannot believe those trying to disprove the pre-flood time do not jump onto this thought. Our teeth today have trouble making it through our lives. GodSaidManSaid responds: Dear Brother Ken, thank you for your edifying message. Concerning our web features: all can be printed and used at no cost. The streaming audio, on the other hand, cannot be downloaded from this site. The audio server that we use does not permit this. But, messages can be downloaded through iTunes at no cost. Once downloaded, you can copy the messages to a CD or to your iPod, phone, tablet, or other electronic device.
Your second question concerned our most current work. Every Thursday evening, God willing, we publish a new feature proving the veracity of the Word of God. At the time of this printing, there are 233 subjects on this site.
The subject that Ken raises is the subject of aging and deterioration, in particular teeth, but actually all body parts such as bones, skin, eyes, internal organs, and others.
As one should suspect, the answer begins in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were to live forever. They dwelt in Paradise. How could their bodies last forever? There is no record of housing for Adam and Eve. They wore no clothing, and were not affected by the sun and the elements. There is no record of rain until 1,656 years later in the days of Noah. Genesis 2:5-6:
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
The ambient temperature was always perfect. No creatures, including insects and today's most deadly creatures, would harm them in any way. They ate perfect food, drank perfect water, breathed perfect air, and awoke every morning to a beautiful postcard sky. Prior to sin, there was no stress, no deadlines, no danger, no sorrow, no tears, and no confusion—for they were in Paradise where only one voice was heard. The one voice was God's voice.
According to the Scriptures, before the Noahitic flood, there was a water canopy that encompassed the entire globe. Genesis 1:6-7:
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Scientists attest that such a water canopy would have had a phenomenal effect on Earth's atmosphere. This water canopy would have filtered out the sun's devastating ultraviolet rays, which are accused of causing over 60 diseases. It can be argued that UV rays, which are a major contributor to harmful mutations and have universal damaging effects on food, water, and air, are possibly the number-one contributor to all disease, aging, and death.
There was something else in Paradise of exceptional importance. It was in the midst of the Garden of Eden. It was the tree of life. If you ate from this tree, you would live forever. After the entrance of sin, God took measure to protect the tree of life. Genesis 3:21-24:
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
The tree of life is seen again in eternity. Revelation 22:1-5:
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Eating of the tree of life generates healing and plays a key role in eternal life. Jesus Christ speaks in Revelation 22:14:
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Things were different in Paradise, and they shall be again in the Paradise to come where only one voice is heard—God's. But in between the first and second Paradise is disobedient man, who because of his unbelief and his disobedience, has fallen from eternal life and Paradise, and now dwells and partakes in the land of sin and death. This is commonly known in science as the second law of thermodynamics. Basically, the result of the second law is that everything goes from order to disorder, from life to death. This is the law of sin and death. Aging and death are the results of sin and man's alignment with the spirit of death—Satan.
Soon, those who align themselves with God's singular voice will find themselves rejoicing in eternal life in Paradise. Revelation 7:16-17:
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Note: "...neither shall the sun light on them...." Damaging UV rays are absent from the picture. God advertises the blessed hope many times in the Scriptures. Revelation 21:1-5:
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Former things are passed away. In this place called Paradise is found perfect air, perfect food, living water, the tree of life, and the "glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof, (Revelation 21:23)" and those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life shall dwell there in their immortal bodies forever.
After the fall, between Adam and Noah, man began descending the slippery slope of sin and death. Prior to the Noahitic flood, the average life span of man was 911 years. That seems like eons, but compared to eternal life, it doesn't even show up as a blip on the radar screen. After the flood, the slippery slope became an outright free fall. The earth's atmosphere experienced a devastating change. God had opened the windows of heaven and poured down the UV-blocking water canopy to the earth. After this event, the life span of man is averaged at 70 years. Psalms 90:10:
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
As already noted, the average life span of man before the flood was 911 years. The protective water canopy was in place, which means he still ate relatively perfect food, drank perfect water, and breathed perfect air. All these things were critical issues in regard to longevity and preservation of teeth, bones, internal organs, and the body in general.
In regard to teeth in particular, author Dr. Alan Gillen has this to say in his book, Body By Design:
There is historical evidence that dental caries were not as common in people of previous generations as they are today. Most likely this is due to a change in dietary habits of man, such as eating foods rich in sugar. Before processed sugar became common in foods, teeth lasted longer. Although teeth from fossil men do show some cavities, "early" men seemed to have kept their teeth fully intact until old age. This is one more evidence demonstrating that man may have once lived to great ages with good health. [End of quote]
Teeth for 911 years? Yes! But, better yet, teeth for eternity.
The following list of subjects deals with the issues we discussed:

Isaiah 30:1 (KJV)
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord; that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
