The man hosting the talk show railed upon conservativism and what he called right-wing Christian fanaticism. He smugly challenged anyone to prove that God existed or that the Bible was Holy Writ. He portrayed himself as open minded but when a caller would attempt to answer his challenge his ears would shut like two trap doors and he would cut the caller off. That unfortunately is so typical of this world.
The King James Bible is the inerrent word of God and yes we can prove it scholastically and pragmatically. Welcome to the truth at godsaidmansaid.com. Now for today's subject.
GOD SAID in Psalms, Chapter 8, Verse 8:
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
And again God says in Ecclesiastes, Chapter 1, Verse 6:
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
Over 2,500 years ago, long before modern science began to discover its secrets, God said there were literal paths in the sea and circuits of the wind.
MAN SAID the word of God may have some small literary value but as far as historic or scientific insights are concerned, it has no real credibility.
Now THE RECORD. The subject of sea paths and wind circuits requires a short sampling of powerful supernatural insights.
The phenomenal profit of obeying God's word is bigger than the human mind can comprehend. Untold millions have followed its life extending and life saving directives. Literally trillions of dollars of value have also been realized.
Christopher Columbus set out to prove that the world was round. He said his inspiration was not maps or worldly wisdom but it was the writings of God's prophet Isaiah. It's Isaiah, Chapter 40, Verse 21-22 that reads:
21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

The Bible is replete with highly profitable supernatural insights into the human anatomy from the proper food and drink to secrets of building strong immune systems, healthy hearts and the peace of mind that knowing where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going delivers. Research now knows that people who attend their house of prayer two of more times a week are healthier, recover from sickness quicker and live an average of eight years longer than their less than faithful counterparts.
The profits of obedience are immeasurable and so it is concerning the discoveries of one Matthew Fontaine Maury. Matthew Maury, known as the father of oceanography was a U.S. Navy officer who lived during the 1800s. After an injury forced an early retirement, Mr. Maury was awarded the job of overseeing the Depot of Charts and Instruments of the Hydrographic Office of the U.S. Navy, spanning 20 years from 1841 to 1861. Matthew was an ardent follower of Jesus Christ and had complete confidence in the accuracy of the word of God...a confidence that became immensely profitable to all of mankind. He read Psalms 8:8 and Ecclesiastes 1:6 and saw the great practical significance of paths in the sea and circuits of the wind. It is Matthew Maury who discovered and plotted many of the wind circuits and ocean currents or paths in the sea such as the 40 mile wide, 2,000 feet deep Gulf Current, the Japanese Current, the California Current and more. The seagoing vessels in Maury's days and on applied these discoveries and cut down the time needed to cross the ocean by as much as three weeks.
The state of Virginia erected a monument in honor of their native son and in its plaque it reads:
"Matthew Fontaine Maury, Pathfinder of the Seas, the genius who first snatched from the oceans and atmosphere the secret of their laws. His inspiration, Holy Writ, Psalms 8:8; Ecclesiastes 1:6."
The nearly three weeks of savings for seagoing vessels registered enormous benefits...huge savings of man hours, reduced cost of food and fuel, less wear and tear on the ships, etc., resulting in a lower cost to ship goods and consequently a lower cost of merchandise to the entire world. Obeying God's word is always a profitable thing to do.
