Todays featured subject is marijuana and the drive in the US to fully legalize it as a recreational drug, as it stands now in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington. This list does not encompass those states where marijuana has been decriminalized or is legal for medicinal purposes only. It may be easier to list those states where marijuana is still fully illegal: Idaho, Kansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wyoming.

The world is spiraling down in an ever-increasing state of hopelessness, and it will not be reversed.  Jesus speaks of the childlike in faith in John 17:8-9:

8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

We cannot save the world.  Its destiny of doom is certain.  As the redeemed, we can, however, reconcile unto God those chosen few who will embrace the cross of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

I have often asked individuals if they have been BORN AGAIN, and a common answer is not “yes,” or “no,” but a statement of belonging to a particular denomination or church.  Unbeknownst to them, Jesus Christ, the author of salvation, did not start a particular denomination.  Instead, He created what the Bible knows as the body of Christ, or the bride of Christ—the living church founded solely on the Word of God. Keep firmly in your mind that Revelation 19:13 says of Christ: “…and His name is The Word of God.”  If you are willing to accept Jesus Christ as the authority on how to get to heaven, you must know that He said: In order to see the Kingdom of God, you must be BORN AGAIN—born a second time, this time of the Spirit of God.  John 3:3:

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Dear visitor, have you been BORN AGAIN, just as Jesus said? Do you want to escape the certain doom of this world and its citizens?  In just a moment, I will invite you to follow me in a simple prompt, and if you follow from your heart, your new life will begin in just minutes.  Today, all your sin and shame will be washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood.  Today, all of Satan’s bondages in your life will be broken, and let me underscore ALL.  Today, hopelessness will be replaced with the marvelous and glorious blessed hope.  Today, your name will be written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life, for you will be BORN AGAIN.  Are you ready to make the decision that will begin your eternal destiny?  Here is the prompt I promised: Click onto “Further with Jesus”  for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God.  NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

GOD SAID, Proverbs 30:5-6:

5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

GOD SAID, I Corinthians 6:19-20:

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God''s.

GOD SAID, Galatians 6:7:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

MAN SAID: Our great scientists, our wise educators, and our savvy politicians have done the research and necessary investigations.  They know the way.  The Bible has outlived any usefulness it may have once had.  It doesn’t have MY answers!

Now THE RECORD: Welcome to GodSaidManSaid feature 1069 that will once again certify the supernatural and perfect bonafides of God’s Holy Bible.  All of these faith-building features are archived here in text and streaming audio for the edification of the blood-bought and as ammunition in the battle for the souls of men.  Every Thursday eve, God willing, they grow by one.

Thank you for visiting.  God’s Word is true and righteous altogether.  Embrace it with your might and live.

This world moves ever closer to doomsday.  At the time of Christ’s return to receive His church in the clouds (I Thessalonians 4), commonly known as the Rapture, things on earth will be very dire indeed.  Jesus speaks of the time of His return in Matthew 24:36-39:

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Genesis 6:5-8 describes the days of Noah:

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

An easy case can be made that today fits the description of the “days of Noah.”  Can you hear that knocking at the door?

It is not even remotely possible.  It is simply not possible.  It is not possible to discard the instructions of God without reaping the deadly fruit of that disobedience, and the curse for disobedience is often found in the unintended consequences.  The cardinal law of Galatians 6:7 must be satisfied always:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The GodSaidManSaid navigation bar on your left has a category titled “GodSaidManSaid: The Record.”  This category alone hosts 880 subjects (and counting) that demonstrate the inescapable reality of the cardinal law of sowing and reaping. In this category, we cite a commandment, instruction, or insight of God’s Word, and then we report man’s disregard, mockery, and derision.  Finally, we report on the ugly consequences of man’s disobedience. If you are looking for proof, you need look no further.

The mystery of how the cardinal law of sowing and reaping finds out the offender—no matter where on earth he or she might be, no matter how hard one might try to hide from the fruit of their doings—is really just so childlike simple.  Because the Word of God is true and righteous altogether, obeying it yields the blessing of doing the right thing.  Because the Word of God is true and righteous altogether, disobeying it yields the curse of doing the wrong thing.  It’s true: Every commandment, precept, and instruction given by God has inherent within it a blessing or a curse, and we choose which it will be.  It is also true that the spirit realm—good angels and bad angels—interact with these affairs of men, but they, too, must abide the cardinal law.

Man is a terror unto himself, his own worst enemy.  The spirit of disobedience must steal, kill, and destroy for that is Satan’s modus operandi.  Jesus said in John 10:10:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Steal, kill, destroy!  When the carnal world’s great minds come together—the minds that reject the mind of Christ—you can expect three things: Steal, kill, and destroy.

Today’s featured subject is marijuana and the drive in the US to fully legalize it as a recreational drug, as it stands now in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.  This list does not encompass those states where marijuana has been decriminalized or is legal for “medicinal purposes” only.  It may be easier to list those states where marijuana is still fully illegal: Idaho, Kansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wyoming.

Man’s incessant resistance to God’s instructions have created untold human damage.  The great carnal minds have come together, so expect stealing, killing, and destroying

God’s directives concerning what we eat and drink, and what we put into our bodies, is clear.  Several overarching passages would be:

👥 I Corinthians 3:16-17:

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

👥 I Corinthians 6:19-20:

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God''s.

GodSaidManSaid published the following in the feature “The Wages of Sin—Part 3” on January 10, 2008:

The headline from England’s Daily Mail, concerning the use of marijuana reads, “Smoking Just One Cannabis Joint Raises Danger of Mental Illness by 40%.”  The following excerpts are from that article.

There are great risks in smoking cannabis, a new report has revealed.

A single joint of cannabis raises the risk of schizophrenia by more than 40 per cent, a disturbing study warns.

The Government‑commissioned report has also found that taking the drug regularly more than doubles the risk of serious mental illness.

Overall, cannabis could be to blame for one in seven cases of schizophrenia and other life‑shattering mental illness, the Lancet reports.

The grim statistics—the latest to link teenage cannabis use with mental illness in later life—come only days after Gordon Brown ordered a review of the decision to downgrade cannabis to class C, the least serious category.

Cannabis has been implicated in a string of vicious killings, including the recent stabbing of fashion designer Lucy Braham.

The authors of the latest study, the most comprehensive of its kind and commissioned by the Department of Health, said: “Policymakers need to provide the public with advice about this widely‑used drug.”

“We believe there is now enough evidence to inform people that using cannabis could increase their risk of developing a psychotic illness later in life.”

The analysis does not look at the age at which schizophrenia is likely to develop.  However, previous studies have shown that smoking the drug as a teenager raises the risk of developing schizophrenia in one''s twenties or thirties.

The researchers, from four British universities, analysed the results of 35 studies into cannabis use from around the world.  This suggested that trying cannabis only once was enough to raise the risk of schizophrenia by 41 per cent.

At greatest risk, however, were heavy users, with those who took cannabis over 100 times having more than double the risk of those who never touched the drug.

With up to 40 per cent of teenagers and young adults in the UK believed to have tried cannabis, the researchers estimate that the drug could be behind 14 per cent of cases of schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses.

Research completed by leading psychiatrist Professor Robin Murray in 2005 showed that those who smoked the drug regularly at 18 were 1.6 times more likely to suffer serious psychiatric problems, including schizophrenia, by their mid‑20s.

For those who were regular users at 15, the stakes were even higher, with their risk of mental illness by the age of 26 being 4.5 times greater than normal.

Professor Robin Murray, of the Institute of Psychiatry in London, warned yesterday that the risks were likely to be heightened by the increasing use of powerful skunk cannabis.

“My own experience suggest to me that the risk with skunk is higher.  Therefore their estimate that 14 per cent of cases of schizophrenia in the UK are due to cannabis is now probably an understatement.”  [End of quote]

That feature was published nearly 14 years ago.  Our wise political leaders and medical experts should certainly have been aware of the deep dangers of marijuana and its by-products, but pushed legalization laws through anyways.  Who will be responsible for all the needless suffering?  The answer is those who followed their antichrist leadership.

The following paragraph is from the September 28, 2019 issue of Science News in the section they call “Notebook:”

Marijuana use by pregnant women is on the rise, with some using it to treat morning sickness.  In a national survey of 4,000 pregnant women in the United States, marijuana use roughly doubled from 2002 to 2017, from 3.4 percent to 7 percent, researchers reported in the June 18 JAMA.  In a different study in the same issue, self-reported marijuana use by pregnant women in Canada was linked to a greater risk of premature birth.  A study in rats, presented in Orlando, FL., at the Experimental Biology 2019 meeting in April, found that cannabis given to a pregnant rat may change the nerve connections in an offspring’s hippocampus, a brain region that plays a role in learning and memory. [End of quote]

The headline of the April 23, 2021 Denver Post reads, “Colorado Reckons with High-Potency Marijuana and its Impact on Children.”  Excerpts follow:

Growing evidence shows high-potency THC products are more likely to bring on or worsen mental health issues in young people.  The state’s own reporting says so, and a broader study of 204,000 people ages 10-24 released in January in the Journal of the American Medical Association’s pediatrics publication found elevated risk of self-harm among young people who misused cannabis.

“Use and misuse has not only become increased at an alarming rate, we’re seeing it in younger and younger populations,” said Haley Houtchens, legislative co-chair for the Colorado Association of School Nurses.

There’s nothing new about kids using cannabis, or about the personality changes that happen to some teens who do.  But cannabis concentrates are much stronger than smokeable flower, and vape pens are easy for students to hide and consume discreetly, which Houtchens believes is partially to blame  for the trends.

“We are worried,” said Houtchens, who works as a nurse in five Brighton schools.  “And it’s not a punishment thing. There’s just this perception that because it’s legal, it’s OK, it’s safe.  For the growing frontal lobe brain, it’s just not OK.”

Caraveo, the lone medical doctor in Colorado’s statehouse, has similar observations from her private practice in pediatrics. She said it’s what motivated her to propose a hard cap on THC content—and that she has the backing of both the Boulder-based group Blue Rising and the national group Smart Approaches to Marijuana, which has historical ties to anti-legislation efforts.

The centerpiece of the initial version of Caraveo’s bill—a THC cap that she first tried to set at 15% for all products—was never politically viable, as it would have wiped out huge swaths of the state’s cannabis industry.  Fifteen percent THC or higher is common not only in concentrates (which can be as high as above 90%) but also traditional flower.

House speaker and Denver Democrat Alec Garnett is at the center of the negotiation, and also appears to have moved on from the idea of potency caps for now.  He wants to kick the matter to state health experts to study independently and return in a coming year with policy recommendations.

“It’s so uncool to talk about cannabis in a negative way and people are rightly excited about the new entrepreneurship opportunities, the revenue,” said Robin Noble, whose 15-year-old son’s adverse reaction to “just some pot” lead her to serve on her city’s cannabis advisory board and become a legislative aide to Democratic state representative Judy Amabile.  “But getting lost in this is that some people, especially young people with developing brains, can be significantly harmed.”  [End of quotes]

The “Health and Science” section of the August 13, 2021 issue of The Week published the following paragraph:

A growing proportion of schizophrenia cases are linked to excessive marijuana use, a new study suggests.  Researchers analyzed data from Denmark’s national health registry, including records for everyone who was 16 or older at some point between 1972 and 2017.  They found that in 1995, some 2 percent of schizophrenia diagnoses were associated with cannabis use disorder—a heavy and problematic use of the drug—and that this figure rose to 4 percent in 2000, and to 8 percent more recently.  The link between the mental disorder and marijuana is relatively well-established.  [End of quote]

An old, jaded challenge to God has always been: If there is a loving God, there would be no pain or suffering. Who is responsible when God says NO, and the world’s “wisest” say YES?  Who will pay the price of their empty, antichrist counsel?  …those who follow their direction.

The headline on WebMD.com on September 23, 2020 read, “Prenatal Pot Use Impacts Kids’ Future Mental Health.”  An excerpt from that feature follows:

Marijuana use during pregnancy was associated with a host of problems in the preteen years, researchers report.  Children exposed to pot in the womb were more likely to experience internalizing disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as externalizing disorders such as lashing out at others or ADHD, researchers found. [End of quote]

ScienceDaily.com’s headline on March 8, 2021 read: “New Research Shows Marijuana THC Stays in Breast Milk for Six Weeks.”  Several paragraphs follow:

In a new study published in JAMA Pediatrics, researchers at Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) have found that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of marijuana, stays in breast milk for up to six weeks, further supporting the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine to abstain from marijuana use during pregnancy and while a mother is breastfeeding.  This is the first study examining THC in breast milk and plasma among women with known marijuana use in pregnancy since a 1982 study in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The study found that, while the concentrations of THC varied from woman to woman (likely depending on their level of use, BMI, and metabolism), THC was excreted in the breast milk of these seven women for up to six weeks.  In fact, all of the women still had detectable levels of THC in their breast milk at the end of the study.

“This study provided invaluable insight into the length of time it takes a woman to metabolize the THC in her body after birth, but it also helped us understand why mothers use marijuana in the first place,” said Maya Bunik, MD, MPH, senior investigator, medical director of the Child Health Clinic and the Breastfeeding Management Clinic at Children’s Colorado, and professor of pediatrics at the CU School of Medicine.  “To limit the unknown THC effects on fetal brain development and promote safe breastfeeding, it is critical to emphasize marijuana abstention both early in pregnancy and postpartum.  To help encourage successful abstention, we need to look at—and improve—the system of supports we offer new moms.”

Longitudinal studies from the 1980s have shown that children born to mothers who used marijuana during pregnancy experienced long-term issues with cognitive and executive functioning, including impulsivity, as well as deficits in learning, sustained attention and visual problem-solving skills.

“This study was not about the impact marijuana has on babies, but we are concerned,” said Erica Wymore, MD, MPH, primary investigator, neonatologist at Children’s Colorado, and assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus. “Especially when we consider that today’s marijuana is five to six times higher in potency than what was available prior to recent marijuana legalization in many states.”  [End of quotes]

God’s cardinal law of sowing and reaping will always find it’s offenders out.  There is no place to hide in the world except for a few square feet of space upon Golgotha’s hill at the foot of an old, rugged cross.  Turn your eyes to the Word of God, authored by Him, and penned by holy men.  These Words never have a need to be rewritten or retracted, for they are true and righteous altogether—every jot and every tittle. This is the Rock upon which to build a life that will last forever.
