Scientists Come Out of the Closet

The Word of God plows over my heart, breaking up the fallow ground so that the tiny seed of faith that God has planted in every heart might spring forth and grow.  The Word of God plows over my heart, breaking up the fallow ground that the earth and the seed might drink up the living water; so that the seed might spring forth from a good and honest heart, and grow into a large and powerful tree that affords lodging and shade to the creatures of the field. 

That tiny seed of faith that God has planted in every heart—even in the most avowed atheist—needs the Word of God to break up the fallow ground.

Did you ever consider that there are no atheists in hell?  Even the Devil is a believer.  James 2:19-20:

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Charles Darwin’s position was that as more fossils were unearthed and science became more sophisticated, the God of the Bible would become irrelevant and disappear from the company of enlightened men.  However, the exact opposite continues to be the case.  The deeper true science looks, the more evident becomes the thumb print of God.  Random time and chance simply does not work. 

Could it be?  Could today’s establishment scientist be wrong—dead wrong?  Could the vast majority of today’s universities and classroom textbooks promoting evolution’s time and chance be exercises in foolishness?  The God of the Bible thinks so.  Romans 1:21:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Psalm 14:1:

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The issue purposely gets scant publicity, but scientists with prestigious credentials are regularly arriving at the God position.  Making a public stand for a Creator—essentially “coming out of the closet”—is not a wise career move for many, but come out they continually do. 

Concerning creation scientists and their credentials, Lee Strobel, in his book The Case for a Creator, weighs in with the following:

No educated person any longer questions the validity of the so-called theory of evolution, which we now know to be a simple fact.

Scientists who utterly reject evolution may be one of our fastest-growing controversial minorities…Many of the scientists supporting this position hold impressive credentials in science.

There were one hundred of them—biologists, chemists, zoologists, physicists, anthropologists, molecular and cell biologists, bioengineers, organic chemists, geologists, astrophysicists, and other scientists.  Their doctorates came from such prestigious universities as Cambridge, Stanford, Cornell, Yale, Rutgers, Chicago, Princeton, Purdue, Duke, Michigan, Syracuse, Temple, and Berkeley. 

They included professors from Yale Graduate School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tulane, Rice, Emory, George Mason, Lehigh, and the Universities of California, Washington, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Ohio, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Georgia, New Mexico, Utah, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. 

Among them was the director of the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry and scientists at the Plasma Physics Lab at Princeton, the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institute, the Los Alamos National Library, and the Lawrence Livermore Laboratories.

And they wanted the world to know one thing: they are skeptical. 

After spokespersons for the Public Broadcasting System’s seven-part television series Evolution asserted that “all known scientific evidence supports [Darwinian] evolution” as does “virtually every reputable scientist in the world,” these professors, laboratory researchers, and other scientists published a two-page advertisement in a national magazine under the banner: “A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism.” 

Their statement was direct and defiant.  “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life,” they said. “Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.” [End of quotes]

In 2014, Dr. Amir Aczel shocked evolutionary scientists.  The following paragraphs are from the GodSaidManSaid feature “In Six Days: Yes:”

The camp of atheism/evolution was recently dealt another blow when one of their own decided to challenge the sacred paradigm.  Several paragraphs from Christian News Network follow:

In a book to be officially released nationwide today, a prestigious mathematician is arguing that science does not disprove the existence of God.

Dr. Amir Aczel is a well-known mathematician with a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Oregon. From 2005 to 2007, Aczel was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, and he is now a research fellow at Boston University.

Aczel is also a prolific author, writing regularly for Discover magazine, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Publishers Weekly describes him as “one of our best science popularizers.”

Though Aczel has written about various philosophical topics in the past, he has not focused much attention on the debate over God’s existence. However, that has changed, as Aczel now says atheists’ anti-God arguments are fundamentally flawed. Aczel outlines his position in a book to be released this week, titled Why Science Does Not Disprove God.

In writing his book, Aczel interviewed eleven Nobel Prize winners and many other biologists, psychologists, physicists, and anthropologists, as well as several leading theologians and religious leaders. Aczel also points out various references to God made by famous scientists, including Einstein:

“Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science,” Einstein once wrote, “becomes convinced that some spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe, one that is vastly superior to that of man.”  [End of quotes]

We’re reminded of another world-renowned academic whose credentials were challenged when he “came out” and confirmed one of the greatest miracles of all time: When the Bible says that God stopped the sun and moon in its course for nearly one full day.  Joshua 10:11-12:

11 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

12 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

A few paragraphs from the GodSaidManSaid feature “One Long Missing Day and the Cry of the Skeptics” follow:

Immanuel Velikovsky lived from 1895 to 1979. He was a psychiatrist by trade and authored many books including Worlds In Collision, which may have been his most controversial written work. He was esteemed by the New York literary world as one of the greatest men of all time but much of the scientific community considered his work to be pseudo-scientific.

The preface to Worlds In Collision reads:

Worlds in Collision is a book of wars in the celestial sphere that took place in historical times. In these wars the planet earth participated too. The historical-cosmological story of this book is based in the evidence of historical texts of many people around the globe, on classical literature, on epics of the northern races, on sacred books of the peoples of the Orient and Occident, on traditions and folklore of primitive peoples, on old astronomical inscriptions and charts, on archaeological finds, and also on geological and paleontological material.

At the time Worlds In Collision was published, Gordon A. Atwater, curator of the Hayden Planetarium, had this to say, "The theories presented by Dr. Velikovsky are unique and should be presented to the world of science in order that the underpinning of modern science can be re- examined...I believe the author has done an outstanding job." [End of quote]

Velikovsky’s research did not center on astronomy or chronology but his assertions of the missing day were founded on the ancient records of civilizations past. Some of these accounts follow, which were the heathens’ attempts to understand this miraculous event.

• The ancient Greeks attribute to Phaethon the disrupting of the sun’s course for a day

• Another ancient account attributes the stopping of the sun and moon to their false god, Bacchus.

• The legend of India tells of the pious lamentations of Arjouan over the death of Krishna which caused the sun to stand still.

• The antiquities of China, Peru, and Babylon record the account of one long day.

• Herodotus reports that the Egyptian priests showed him their ancient temple records in which was found the account of a day that was twice the natural duration.

• Author David Nelson recounts the following: "Chinese history speaks of Yao, their king, declaring that in his reign the sun stood so long above the horizon that it was feared the world would have been set on fire; and fixes the reign of Yao at a given date, which corresponds with the age of Joshua the son of Nun.

If one side of the world records a day when the sun stood still, creating one long, intense day, then other civilizations should record a long night, and they do. The following excerpt is from Velikovsky’s book, Worlds In Collision:

In the Mexican Annals of Cuauhtitlan—the history of the empire of Culhuacan and Mexico, written in Nahua-Indian in the sixteenth century—it is related that during a cosmic catastrophe that occurred in the remote past, the night did not end for a long time. Sahagun, the Spanish savant who came to America a generation after Columbus and gathered the traditions of the aborigines, wrote that at the time of one cosmic catastrophe the sun rose only a little way over the horizon and remained there without moving; the moon also stood still.

One of the world’s greatest historians, Flavius Josephus, wrote in his book, Antiquities of the Jews, the following:

Joshua made haste with his whole army to assist them,
and marching day and night, in the morning fell
upon the enemies as they were going up to the siege;
and when he had discomfited them, he followed them,
and pursued them down the descent of the hills.
The place is called Beth-Horon; where he also understood
that God assisted him, which he declared by thunder and
thunderbolts, as also by the falling of hail larger than usual.
Moreover, it happened that the day was lengthened that the night
not come on too soon, and be an obstruction to the zeal of the
Hebrews in pursuing their enemies; insomuch that Joshua took
the kings, who were hidden in a certain cave at Makkedah, and
put them to death. Now, that the day was lengthened at this
time, and was longer than ordinary, is expressed in the books
laid up in the temple.

The world certainly certifies God’s account of the missing day. The skeptics clamor for an explanation on how such a thing could occur. The obvious answer is that it was a miracle that defies natural understanding. Noah Webster’s definition of miracle: "In theology, an event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event.” [End of quotes]

The headline of Ferocesmente.com reads, “One of the Most Respected Scientists of Today Says He Found Definitive Proof that God Exists.”  Much of the feature follows:

Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, one of the most respected scientists of today, says he has found evidence of the action of a force that “governs everything.” 

The information has created a great stir in the scientific community because Kaku is considered one of the most important scientists of our times, one of the creators and developers of the revolutionary String Theory, which is highly respected throughout the world. 

To come to his conclusions, the physicist made use of what he calls “primitive semi-radius tachyons.” 

Tachyons are theoretical particles capable to “unstick” the Universe matter or vacuum space between matter particles, leaving everything free from the influences of the surrounding universe. 

After conducting the tests, Kaku came to the conclusion that we live  in a “Matrix.” 

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence,” he affirmed.  “Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore.” 

“To me, it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”  [End of quote]

The June 13, 2016, headline of ScienceWorldReport.com reads, “World-Renowned Scientist Michio Kaku Proves Existence of God.”  Excerpts follow:

The report on Feroces Mente explained that to come to this conclusion, he made use of what is called the “primitive semi-radius tachyons,” which are theoretical particles that are capable of unsticking the Universe matter or the vacuum space between particles.  They then leave everything free from the influence of the universe that surrounds them. 

While working on this theory, Kaku discovered what he says is the evidence that the universe was created by an intelligence rather than by random forces.  To put it simply, as stated by Catholic.org, he said that we live in a Matrix-style universe. 

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence,” the scientist said.  “Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore.  To me, it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”  [End of quote]

Headline, June 11, 2016, ChristianityToday.com, “Top Scientist Claims Proof that God Exists, says Humans Live in a ‘World Made By Rules Created by an Intelligence.’” Excerpts follow:

A respected figure in the scientific community recently said he found evidence proving that there is a Higher Being, which he described as the action of a force “that governs everything.” 

Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, who is known as one of the developers of the revolutionary String Theory, said theoretical particles known as “primitive semi-radius tachyons” may be used to prove the existence of God. 

Tachyons are hypothetical particles believed to be moving faster than light and are supposedly capable of “unsticking” universe matter or vacuum space between matter particles, leaving everything free from the influences of the surrounding universe. 

After conducting tests on these particles, Kaku made a very interesting conclusion: that human beings, like what has been depicted in the movies, live in a “Matrix.”  

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence,” the renowned physicist said, as quoted by the Geophilosophical Association of Anthropological and Cultural Studies. 

“Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore,” he added. 

Kaku, a professor of Theoretical Physics at the City College of New York, further said that only the existence of a God can explain this. 

“To me, it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance,” he said. 

He even made an interesting proposition: that God is a very intelligent mathematician.  He even compared the way God thinks to music.  [End of quote]

Wrangle as they will, discredit as they do, yet they always end up here.  The children of faith say, “Who didn’t know that?!”  Build your life on the SOLID ROCK, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory.  Build a life that will last forever.
