It Is Just Pure Chance (Part V)

“Tell me the truth,” they say, but in their carnal condition they cannot know it.  What they are actually searching for is confirmation and endorsement of what they already embrace.  When offered the “Truth,” they can’t recognize it.  Tell me there is no God, or tell me God is a smiley-face bumper sticker, or tell me that all religions are good and lead to Heaven, or tell me all Bibles are the same, or that my denomination is God’s choice, but don’t upset my apple cart.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of Glory.  He is the truth and His name is The Word of God (Revelation 19:13).  Jesus speaks of Himself in John 14:6:

…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

To know this Truth, a miracle is required and this miracle is made available to all by God through Jesus Christ.  John 3:16:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Word of God is absolutely blinding, dazzling, and enlightening, but only the childlike can see.  This is part five in the ongoing series, “It Is Just Pure Chance.”  Bible believers are accused of twisting and massaging the Word of God to fit their various desires.  Prophecies are called vague and convoluted.  The miraculous accounts are classified as Aesop’s Fables.  Commandments and insights given thousands of years ago (that man’s science is just beginning to understand) are written off as pure chance – just coincidences.  In this feature, we will list a Biblical reference for your examination and then list a feature or two if you wish for more detail.  God’s Word removes all reasonable doubt.  Here we go!

• It’s “just a coincidence” that Isaiah 40:22 reads:

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

…and that above the earth’s sky God has placed an ozone layer, a gift unique to the universe, to protect us from deadly rays from the sun.  He stretched His tent over us and created a place science now knows as the inhabitable zone—a place to dwell in.

• It’s “just pure chance” that God’s Word teaches that Adam and Eve were created to be immortal and that we find the in the following GodSaidManSaid feature, “Is Immortality Knocking:”

New research now being conducted by Michael Rose, an evolutionary biologist at the University of California, is focused on extending life.  He is experimenting with fruit flies.  Fruit flies are likely candidates because they reproduce rapidly and make it possible to see the generational effects of their experiments very quickly.  In his laboratory he has managed to double the life span of fruit flies – raising a lot of eyebrows.  When he was asked how far this life extension could go on he answered, “The flies in my lab can potentially live forever.  But of course they don’t, because they have a high likelihood of dying by accident.”  When the question shifted to the human life span and ‘are there discernable limits?’  Rose said, “Not at all.  I believe the limit of the human life span is the limit of human technology.”

The following excerpt is from the article in U.S. News and World Report, titled, “The Cells of Immortality.”  It reads:

Over the past century, vaccines, antibiotics, and good sanitation have upped the average American’s life expectancy by decades, to today’s 74 years for men and 79 for women.  Now, new understanding of the genes and chemicals involved in aging may not only help humans live far past that age but, more important, may also help people retain health and strength in those latter years.  The discovery of biological clocks ticking away in each of our cells, and a knowledge of how to reset those clocks, open the possibility that a human would never die – at least not from old age.  [End of quote]

• It’s “just a coincidence” that God focuses on the number seven, and that He created the earth in six literal days and rested on the seventh, and commanded man to keep the Sabbath, and that the science of chronobiology says yes to seven.  The following paragraphs are from the GodSaidManSaid feature, “The Revelation of Seven:”

• It’s “just pure chance” that 4,000 years ago, God commanded His men to be circumcised (Genesis 17:10-14), and that medical scientists have reversed their opposition to circumcision and now recognize the Biblical procedure as the leading weapon against the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  “Just a coincidence.”

• It’s “just a coincidence” that God’s Word speaks of Jonah (of Jonah and the whale fame), and that the prophet was sent to the pagan city of Nineveh to prophesy of its doom, and that the following was discovered by archaeologist Henry Austin Layard.  The following paragraph has been lifted from the GodSaidManSaid feature, “Jonah – Everyone Says Yes:”
