From the Very First Verse (The Genesis Series, Part 1)

Article#: 2043

It’s astounding how this Book, the Holy Bible, is so maligned, attacked, and mocked by the world’s academics, yet is found to be true and righteous altogether, all the time.  Embrace God’s Word and you’ll have life and life more abundantly.  Jesus speaks to us in John 10:10:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Dear visitor, have you yet to be BORN AGAIN as Jesus declares in John 3:3?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

In just moments, I will invite you to follow me in a simple prompt, and if you follow from your heart, today you will be born a most literal second time, this time of the Spirit of God.

GodSaidManSaid has not asked you to join our denomination, because we have none.  GodSaidManSaid has not asked for your money.  Everything here is free, yet we spend vast amounts of money to reach your soul with the message of salvation.  What is our motivation?  Simple: To add your soul to the camp of the saved, to the ranks of those who, through Christ Jesus, inherit eternal life.

Follow the coming prompt and everything changes for you today.  Today, you will become a new creature.  Today, all your sin and shame will be washed away by Christ’s cleansing blood.  You will be clean.  Today, all of Satan’s bondages in your life will be broken, every single one.  You will be free.  At this moment, your eternal soul is in your very own hands.  What do you want to do with it?  Here is the simple prompt I promised:  Click onto Further with Jesus for childlike instructions and immediate entry into the Kingdom of God. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

GOD SAID, Genesis 1:1:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

GOD SAID, Psalm 19:9:

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

GOD SAID, Exodus 20:11:

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

MAN SAID: Nobody believes the Bible anymore.  Everyone knows its just superstitious foolishness.  Oh, have I read it, you ask?  Well, of course not, but everybody knows—ask your phone!

Now THE RECORD: Welcome to GodSaidManSaid feature 1221 that will once again contend for the beautiful Book.  All of these faith-building features are archived here in text and streaming audio for your edification and to be used as bait by the fishers of men.  Every Thursday eve, God willing, they grow by one.

Thank you for visiting.  May God’s face shine upon you with Light and Truth.

The world’s scribes and scholars are blind, but they are certain they can see.  What is worse is that they have convinced their equally-blind constituents that they can, in fact, see, though they very much cannot.  Jesus describes this dilemma in Matthew 15:14:

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

The revelations of the Word of God are family knowledge, and you must be born into the house to understand.  The outsider cannot enter.

An example of the deep spiritual blindness that exists in the unredeemed is the late titan of evolution, Carl Sagon, and his problem with God and the book of Genesis.  According to a 2006 issue of Discover magazine concerning the deceased Carl Sagan: “Sagan approaches religion like any phenomenon.  He isn’t on a quest for life’s meaning, for a comforting philosophy, or even a guide to how we should treat the neighbors.  Sagan seeks truth of a demonstrable kind.  As a puckish example, he wonders why the book of Genesis didn’t include God-inspired truths…” [End of quote]

I recently reviewed an advertisement from a magazine called Free Inquiry that also has a problem with the God of Creation and the first book of the Bible, called Genesis.  Under the heading “Is God Big Enough for the Universe,” Free Inquiry writes:

The authors of Genesis proclaim that God made the heavens and earth in less than a week.  This feat must have amazed these Bronze Age authors, even though they thought the heavens extended only so far as the sky above them.  Of course, they did not know what stars, planets, or galaxies were.  We now know that the universe is so much bigger and so much more complex. [End of quote]

The BORN AGAIN scratch their heads in bewilderment.  Did these folks actually read the book of Genesis? I suppose they did, but God’s revelation is only revealed to the humbled hearts of the children of faith.  This GodSaidManSaid series will be called “The Genesis Series.”  It is our intention to travel through the entire book of Genesis and publish one major God-inspired truth after another.  We will be pulling from previous GodSaidManSaid features and adding the latest information as we go.

Psalm 33:6:

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

We were spoken into existence by God’s Words.  Everything is a product of God’s Words.  When science discovered DNA, they were shocked.  DNA contains the building instructions for life and it gives them in words, sentences, paragraphs, chapters, and volumes.  We are words at the very molecular level.

Today, the internet claims that there are nearly 4,000 religions, and each one is its own peculiar amalgamation of words.  True religion is actual a Book, and that Book is God’s majority-text Holy Bible.  This may sound bizarre to some I’m sure, but visit the GodSaidManSaid “Which Religion is the Truth” series and your questions will be satisfied.

True religion starts with the following sentence:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

(Genesis 1:1)

The Bible says there was a beginning, but according to Buddha, “no origin can be perceived.”  Until the 1960s, evolution taught that there was no beginning, that the world and the universe were basically immortal.  But, as their understanding of the second law of thermodynamics (also known as the law of entropy) expanded, scientists were forced to concede that, yes, there was an actual beginning.

Instead of a miraculous creation by the hand of the God of all knowledge, the evolutionists who rule over carnal academia proposed a “miracle” of their own:  About 13.8 billion years ago, there was nothing—no universe, no earth, no nothing—and from all this virtual nothingness, there was an explosion they dubbed “the Big Bang”—a fortuitous accident, the ultimate free lunch.  BANG! All of the marvels of the earth and all of the amazing lifeforms within its awe-inspiring universe just popped into existence as a result of this lucky accident in the middle of nothing.  Makes sense, right? They also claim that the universe is ever-expanding, which likewise demands their version of “in the beginning.”

Creation was not a fortuitous accident occurring in the midst of vast nothingness.  Isaiah 45:18:

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

The age of the earth and its universe from their beginning is surely known, even down to the year, day of the week, and even the time of day.  For example, Genesis tells us the evening and the morning were the first day.  God’s days begin in the evening.  Work began in the evening, in the darkness.  God’s creation process began the first day of the week, which would be Sunday (or what is commonly called Saturday evening), with the evening preceding the day: evening and the morning were the first day.

Many chronological markers are laid out in the Scriptures that are used to date the earth.  The genealogical record is pivotal.  Genesis 5:3:

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

From the birth of Adam on the sixth day to the birth of his son Seth was 130 years.  Tracking the genealogical dates between father and son, we discover that 1656 years transpired from the day Adam opened his eyes until Noah’s flood.  Moving forward from Noah, tracking genealogical spans to the years of the kings and other chronological markers, you can date the age of the earth, its universe, and all mankind.  Anglican Archbishop James Ussher, famous for dating the earth in the scholarly tome he wrote in the 1600s—known as The Annals of the World—used all of the methods noted and more.  In Appendix B of The Annals of the World, revised and updated by Larry and Marion Pierce, you’ll find the following:

In preparing this work, Ussher first made the assumption that the Bible was the only reliable source document of chronological information for the time periods covered in the Bible.  In fact, before the Persian Empire, very little is known about Greek, Roman, and Egyptian history, or the history of other nations.  Much rests on speculation and myths.  Dates in secular history become more certain with the founding of the Media-Persian Empire.

For events before this time, Ussher relied solely on the data from the Bible to erect his historical framework.  He chose the death of Nebuchadnezzar as a reliable date to anchor all the earlier Biblical dates to.  Hence, working backward from that date, he ended up with his date for creation of October 23, 4004 BC.  [End of quote]

The date of October 23, 4004 BC is based on the Julian calendar.  According to the Gregorian calendar—still used today—and according to Ussher, the beginning of time is Sunday, September 21, 4004 BC.

Now, add the years since our Lord Jesus Christ and you have an earth that is, in 2024, 6,028 years of age.

Scientific and academic research continually (and mostly unwittingly) confirm the Bible’s young earth.

Did the earth have a beginning like the Bible declares in its very first verse?  GodSaidManSaid hosts a myriad of features that certify a very young earth.  Ancient, nonbiblical societal records say yes.  Over 100 scientific measurements say yes.  GodSaidManSaid published an eye-popping series called “The 6,000s” where we highlighted over 60 histories of various subjects—the timelines and histories of animal domestication and agriculture, of fairytales and language, of human migration patterns, to name a few.  What is bizarre about this list is that everything seems to have occurred around 5,000 years ago.  Now, if the universe is 13.8 billion years old, then all of the amazing points I will list occurred in just 0.00000036 of the allotted time.  How did everything get clumped together in one place?  Nothing is happening for nearly 100% of the time, and then all of a sudden everything!  The following excerpts are from the GodSaidManSaid feature “The 6,000s (Part 9: The Conclusion):”

📍 According to ScienceMag.org, fairy tales still in circulation today are between 2,500 and 6,000 years old.

📍 According to Science News, 5,000 to 3,000 years ago, “witnessed the rise of metalworking, writing systems, and other signature features of urban civilizations.”

📍 Also cited in Science News, the nomadic Yamnaya people reshaped central and northern European DNA beginning about 5,100 years ago, speaking an Indo-European language spawning more than 400 languages.  Both groups were surprised at the findings.  Think Tower of Babel

📍 The headline in the March 2, 2019 issue of Science News reads: “Pandas Didn’t Always Stick to Bamboo.”  The subhead, Specialized diet may have emerged in the last 5,000 years.

📍 Carter and Lightner report in the spring 2016 issue of Creation Research Society Quarterly:

Evolutionists place a timeframe of when “Mitochondrial Eve” lived by assuming common ancestry between humans and chimps and the evolutionary timescale.  However, when measured mutation rates in mitochondrial DNA were used, Eve was calculated to have lived around 6,000 years ago.  Of course, the evolutionists do not accept this timeframe, so they have sought ways around the implications.  More recent in-depth analysis of mitochondrial DNA has upheld this Biblical timeframe from humans and found the same pattern in other organisms as well.

Both secular and creationist researchers have employed the empirical method of developing genetic clocks and have achieved similar outcomes—i.e., dates of creature origins well within the Biblical timeframe of 6,000 years.  This research has involved the genetic analysis of humans, fruit flies, water fleas, and roundworms.

A massive new genetic study by secular scientists analyzed the DNA of over 100,000 animal species using about five million DNA sequences.  Researchers at the Rockefeller University and the University of Basel found that the amount of DNA variation among humans was about the same as that observed for each of the many animal species they studied.  They also discovered that each kind of creature was genetically distincthaving clear genetic boundaries.

When the researchers extrapolated this data into the timeframes of origins, they discovered that about 90% of all animal life was roughly the same, very recent age—a complete contradiction of evolutionary expectations.

📍 Ann Gibbons writes in the January 2, 1998 issue of Science, in a feature titled “Calibrating the Mitochondrial Clock:”

Regardless of the cause, evolutionists are most concerned about the effect of a faster mutation rate.  For example, researchers have calculated that the mitochondrial Eve”—the woman whose mtDNA was ancestral to that in all living peoplelived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago in Africa.  Using the new clock, she would be a mere 6,000 years old.  [End of quote]

📍 In the October 2017 issue of Discover magazine, you’ll find the following under “20 Things You Didn’t Know about Animal Domestication:”

🐔 Chicken domestication dates back 4,000 years or so.

🐎 Domesticated horses date to 5,500 years ago.

🐈 Cats were domesticated in 4,400 BC.

🐑 Sheep, goats, pigs, and humpless cattle were domesticated under 10,500 years ago.

Some of the numbers are inflated, but you get the idea—all of a sudden.

📍 Pigeons were domesticated 5,000 years ago.

📍 The oldest-known plague occurred about 5,700 years ago, according to the January 19, 2019 issue of Science News

Everything happened in just 0.00000036 of time!  Just all of a sudden!

GodSaidManSaid purchases advertisements all over the earth.  We are fishing for souls.  Years ago, we were purchasing advertisements on two large commercial radio stations in Sydney, Australia.  After several ads had run on a particular station, we received a call to tell us that they had canceled our advertising campaign.  It wasn’t long before the second station called us to inform us that they were in the process of doing the same.  Shortly after receiving the news about the second station, we received a confidential phone call from our sales representative with the inside tip that their big host, the Howard Stern of Australia and New Zealand, was going to contact GodSaidManSaid to interview us on air.  The sales representative warned me that the radio host was a shock-jock and would be looking to humiliate the ministry.

The host wanted to know why we were causing so much controversy with the radio commercials we were airing on Australian airwaves.  We explained that the Bible is the center of global controversy and noted that the first five Words of the Bible, found in Genesis, chapter 1, verse 1 split the earth down the middle like a cantaloupe.  The Words read, “In the beginning God created.”  First, God’s Word states that there is a beginning, but according to Buddha, that’s not necessarily so; he claimed, “No origin can be perceived.”  The last two Words, “God created,” exclude evolutionists, atheists, and agnostics.  This is just the beginning—just the first five words.

The full interview follows, along with the radio commercial that had supposedly caused such public angst.

There is no written transcript of the radio interview.

In the lead of this feature, you read: “Sagan seeks truth of a demonstrable kind.  As a puckish example, he wonders why the book of Genesis didn’t include God-inspired truths.”  This feature covered Genesis Chapter 1, Verse 1, and we have only scratched the surface of the first verse.

Everyone knows it’s just superstitious foolishness.  Oh, have I read it, you ask?  Well, of course not, but everybody knows—ask your phone!

Now you have THE RECORD.
