Everything and everybody has levels of accumulated weight. If one is frequently late, frequently makes excuses, or frequently gossips, for example, he or she will have accumulated, via repetitive action, an image. All of us have an image that is a product of accumulated weight. Much of that image is less than spectacular and laden with guilt. The very good news is that God has ordained a Holy Ghost process to reverse it.
Accumulated Weight

God is the source and foundation of all truth. His Word is the owner's manual of truth that has been written and preserved for all those who have made a covenant with Him by sacrifice—a sacrifice of their own lives unto Christ. God's Holy Word is the answer to all—absolutely all of this world's problems, including our own individual problems. Surrender your life to the God of truth. Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, said of His Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17)." If you have yet to be born into the house of God; if your sins have yet to be expunged; if you have yet to experience the marvelous joy of salvation, click on to "Further With Jesus" on this website for immediate entry. NOW FOR TODAY’S SUBJECT.

GOD SAID, Isaiah 28:9-10:

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

MAN SAID: God is a figment of man's imagination. The Bible is just an old, irrelevant book.

Now THE RECORD: Thousands of years before man has his eureka moment when he discovers bits of truth, he finds that God and His Holy Word have already been there. This is just another proof that God authored the Scriptures.

Accumulated weight is a marketing term which means that when you run an advertisement or make a public relations statement, you have supporting it all the weight of the ads and statements preceding it. For example, the name Coca-Cola has been positioned in our minds thousands and thousands of times. Each time we are exposed to the name Coca-Cola, it has all the weight of its past exposures supporting it. If you stop ten people at a local shopping mall and ask them to name two soft drink companies in America, all or nearly all will mention Coca-Cola as one of their choices. Similar results would be generated in much of the world. In marketing, this is known as a heavy logo—accumulated weight. The principle of accumulated weight is certainly not new to the Scriptures. It is clearly defined thousands of years before man stumbles over it, such as in Isaiah 28:9-10:

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Everything and everybody has levels of accumulated weight. If one is frequently late, frequently makes excuses, or frequently gossips, for example, he or she will have accumulated, via repetitive action, an image. All of us have an image that is a product of accumulated weight. Much of that image is less than spectacular and laden with guilt. The very good news is that God has ordained a Holy Ghost process to reverse it.

As far as man is concerned, bad accumulated weight must be offset with good accumulated weight if the bad record is to be neutralized. I have no statistical measurement of proportion, but I would suggest that it takes substantially more good to clear the record. After the bad image is zeroed out, a continuation of the good performance will build a positive image. Remember, image is made of accumulated weight. An old marketing slogan states that repetition is reputation, and it's true.

God offers us a far superior process of shifting and clearing accumulated weight—a process known Biblically as the born-again experience (John 3:3-7). The apostle Peter speaks to the unbelieving Jews of the advent of Jesus Christ in Acts 3:19:

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

The born-again experience is a miraculous event where man repents of his sins—believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood for salvation—and yields himself to the authority of God's Word. It is at this juncture where an individual denounces his Adamic, rebellious root, dies out to self, and becomes a child of God. It is also here where God blots out all the new creature's past sins. II Corinthians 5:17- 19:

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

The accumulated weight of sin is fully expunged from the record simply because the guilty person died to sin and a new, born-again person has taken his place. God no longer recognizes the past sinful record. The accumulated weight of sin and guilt is zeroed out. Hebrews 8:12:

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Psalms 103:12:

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Even after initial salvation, a Christian, on occasion, errs. It is important that this error does not begin to accumulate weight. God makes provision in His Christ for true absolution. I John 2:1-2:

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

I John 1:7-9:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

By the grace of God, all repented of and forsaken sin is forgiven and forgotten—such marvelous grace!

The principles of destroying the accumulated weight of sin and beginning the process of developing Godly accumulated weight is well defined in Romans 12:1-2:

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Putting on the mind of Christ is the Christian's ultimate goal.

Thousands of years before the marketing industry began to master the concept of accumulated weight, God was already there.

Now you have THE RECORD.
